Bielsa at Leeds did play White as DM in 4 league games while on loan there. Potter has said, though technically he's a defender, White has the ability to play in midfield as well.
Insight of two experienced managers does hold some water.

Was this part of Edu’s genius five year plan? Buy a CB for 50 mil and then shove him to the right the very next year because the player you already own is a better CB.

You'd rather have Holding as back up CB and Cedric as back up RB than White rotating with Saliba and Tomiyasu? Who cares about the 50m?

Swipey is spot on dumb decision if that's what they plan to do. You shoyld care about rhe £50m if you are paying a f**k ton to watch the team play. Instead of spunking cash on foolishness pass the savings on to the fans of the club!!

Mate just because a manager said it is so that doesn't make it so. Wenger and Emery also said plenty of shit that turned out to be dumb.

But your point does hold with me, I think White is technically good enough to play a holding role, just as Luiz was.

That’s correct. Because I’d rather the 50 mil have been spent on a top CM so I never have to watch Xhaka again.

We can't have both?

We can have anything the club wants. But so far it hasn’t wanted both.

Saliba already looks like our best defender.

Honestly Gabriel worries me at times. Lapses of concentration far too often. I don't think his English is strong enough yet either - seems like there are sometimes break downs in communication.

Yes, Gabriel looks a little nervous. Start of the season blues. Should settle down soon.
Rams had iffy moments too...not to speak of Xhakha. Something from nothing.

He had a few games like this last season though. Something he needs to work on.
