Of course we are keen. We're letting one of our 2 good HG players go (AMN and Eddie yet to be determined). Also seems we have a link with Brentford now, particularly in the GK department.

No brainer if they insist on selling Emi.

although i do think aouar would be more pivotal to our future i think we genuinely want both

ceballos - partey - aouar is wankworthy for a team that wants to dominate on the front foot

though tbf ceballos - xhaka - aouar would work

depends if the 200k pw on top of the 45m fee is true. Doubt he's worth it and think we can find a much cheaper version somewhere in France or Belgium.

Ceballos - Xhaka - Aouar in a 4-3-3 would be a tad loose as Xhaka excels when the pressure isn't on him and he can just ping balls around from deep.

In a 3-4-3, Xhaka can do that without the pressure. In a 4-3-3, the deepest midfielder either has to be Pirlo-esque with a strong B2B alongside him, or someone like... Yes, Partey.

Yeah Soumare right, supposed to be good. Know as much about him as Partey tbh, so might as well plump for the younger guy who will either be worth double in a couple years or a least retain most of his value plus be on lower wages.

Just don't know whats so special about Partey other than he plays for Atletico. He didn't even play in the CL against RBL so he can't be that critical to them and seems like a generic energetic DM. He also plays in a very defensive team so who knows how well that will transition to our setup.

Partey is class but 45m + an insane wage packet just seems like far too much. If he was this good and 23 and not 27 I'd be more open to it, but then we likely wouldn't be paying him 200k p/w.

I'd prefer us to get Aouar anyway so as long as get him anything else will be a bonus in my eyes.

soumare is linked to newcastle for €35m

the reason partey is so highly sought after is that he is a complete midfielder. he has the presence, he's mobile, he's a great dribbler, he's good at breaking the lines and he's a solid defender

tbf hes built for premier league football

Oh yeah I've no doubt he'd be great, I just don't think the numbers add up. We're all just speculating anyway, I trust Mikel and Edu.

He's basically poor man's Keane, minus the derangement. Not as technically sound as the GOAT Prem midfielder, Vieira.

So, the state of play:

- Henrik Mhitaryan :hello:
- Emiliano Martinez :hello:

Realistic transfers out that should be doable:

- Lucas Torreira
- Sead Kolasinac
- Sokratis

Long shots:

- Mesut Ozil
- Matteo Guendouzi
- Shkodran Mustafi

If we can kick get rid of the three "realistic" players that should give us the funds for one of Partey/ Aouar, and if we're lucky, perhaps even both. I feel like we'd probably need to move on Guendouzi for that to happen as we have Xhaka, Ceballos and Elneny who all look as if they'll be staying.
