Good luck offloading his £200k pw pay packet. Just had to break the release clause, didn't we?

He'll be starting alongside Xhaka for years to come.

He's a good player other than slipping and can't shoot.

In a good team he'd be a force.

I'm sorry but I don't buy this excuse, I think a system can definitely make a player look better or account for their flaws but you can see a good player regardless of system.

Mane
Salah
Firmino

All flourished under Klopp but they were also very good in their seasons prior to joining Liverpool. Meanwhile Partey seems more like he can't keep up with the pace of the game and is used to sitting in a defensive 10 hoofing it to Griezmann.

It was a cheap goal to give away. His passing and awareness was off all night. Starting to look like a dud.

Why is he shooting though?

We have an extremely rigid build up play, nobody else dares shoot unless they have clear sight of goal or are in the box. Why's he doing it?

He's half a yard to slow - be that physical or mental - got away with that in a slower league but even average EPL sides are showing that his inability to make quick decisions is an inherent weakness .... he's played 38 games for us now and looks just the same as he did when he got here.

100% agree
And that comes down to poor management

He looked exposed at times yesterday, I wondered how that would go when I saw the teamsheet and no other CM with him.

Yesterday he wasnt great, my problem with him is sloppiness, giving the ball away cheaply. I think he is still getting to grips with the pace of the English game, you get no time in the middle. I also agree the system is a problem, put him in the Man City or Liverpool midfield and he would be utterly dominant!

The Spanish League is levels below the PL He is used to the majority of his games being strolls in the park.
Just has to be FASTER and stop f***ing dawdling on the ball. He has no strength so he has to make quicker decisions and release it before he is closed down.

I agree and Partey was one of the best central midfielders in the world before joining us.

The system is all wrong and he also doesn't have a suitable partner alongside him. It leaves him exposed in a flawed system.

You could put Kante in this team and he'd be ineffective.

He absolutely was not. Saul's release clause is £150m. Partey's was a third of that.

Even then, we were the only club to actually trigger it. Other clubs didn't bother.

Atletico didn’t want to sell him and if not for the release clause wouldn’t have.

He was very good in La Liga, as with any player you need the right system/style for them to flourish.

Everyone that seems to sign for us doesn’t seem to flourish, they maybe start well but then their performances/form tails off.
