Arsenal are preparing a summer bid for Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey. The Ghana midfielder has a £45million release clause in his contract. (Telegraph)

We need a big ugly again. Thomas would come certainly. Transfers make the player's bank accounts swell. Then like Costa he can return to ATM in four years. That said, we could spend 45M far better than on him.

No sources whatsoever.

The transfer window won't be open for months, and we never make details like this public until the deal is nearly done. Given our financial situation, there is no way we are placing bids of this size before we have deals in place to to sell players first. And with the uncertainty around next season, transfers are the last thing on clubs' agendas.

we are facing a very quite transfer window with the club having serious financial problems. our wage bill is sky high with no CL football in the foreseeable future. Its not looking good. United will be the biggest spenders imo
