Partey was earning £65k a week at Atleti. Arsenal are paying him £260k a week.

I'm pretty sure he'd have stayed at Atleti if they bumped his salary to £100-120k a week.

So are Ozil and Alexis by that metric. Leaving Real and Barca for the glory of besting Hull City and Villa in a domestic cup?

Partey moved for the money. Nothing wrong with that.

What I don't understand is why Edu and Mikel agreed to 200k pw right out of the gate. He has looked ineffectual for the majority of the games he's played. I have the same criticism of Pepe, who's on 140k, but Pepe at least contributes valuable goals and assists.

Do you have a source on that £260k a week figure? I'd read it was much lower.

Here are top ten highest-paid players at Arsenal:

10. Nicolas Pepe – £100,000-per-week
9. Bernd Leno – £100,000-per-week
8. Sead Kolasniac – £100,000-per-week
7. David Luiz – £100,962-per-week
6. Hector Bellerin – £110,000-per-week
5. Alexandre Lacazette – £182,063-per-week
4. Willian – £192,308-per-week
3. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – £250,000-per-week
2. Thomas Partey – £260,000-per-week
1. Mesut Ozil – £350,000-per-week

As per

Accto Ornstein and AFCBell, he's getting paid, "north," of £200k. Daily Star and Mirror reported it at £260k a week too.

As per TheAFCBell, Party's gross salary(before taxes) is around 200k/week including bonuses, and the Mirror claim of the 260k/wk number is greatly inflated.
Even then whoever assigned this offer to a largely untested foreign player should be immediately sacked. At this rate we will go nowhere if we give hand outs blindly. We should have learned from the Ozil and Pepe saga. Ridiculous! Seems a lot of unaccounted cash is floating around AFC!

Let's see next season will be the season he really beds in and becomes a main stay he needs a good partner who is more defensive and he needs to work on his shooting his passing depends on his partner I feel his passing is better beside someone more defensive
