All of Ach's heroes sacked in the same season ... :rofll: :rofll:

but but but ...

Wilder - GONE
Jose - GONE
Papa Carlo - GONE

Another horror season for Ach. Big pressure on him next season if he still holds the dream of working for The Mirror one day.

Didn't think Anche or Mou had it in them anymore right at the time they were available , and I have been proven right. Not that MA has done wonders but the other two, he was compared w/at that time, have been poorer. One got sacked other ended up behind us when it mattered most.
So, for me, unless we get some decent manager who is going to stick around w/us for the long term, we continue with MA and hope we have a good start to the season.

We're just a joke. If things don't work out with Arteta and we're forced to sack him mid-season after backing him in the summer, you have to worry about our next managerial appointment. Before Arteta we were flirting with the idea of giving Freddie Ljunberg the job! The people running this club are no good at talent spotting which makes me real nervous about them passing up managers like Ancelotti, Allegri, Conte, Tuchel, Pochettino, Sarri, Jardim, Benitez....

Next appointment will probably be a disaster as well. If it's not a Henry or Vieira, I fear they'll gamble on another untested midtable coach like Howe or Nuno or go for one of the international managers that's sacked or steps down after the Euros.

It is not only us , but ManU also have taken similar approach. They've learned the hard way w/Van Gaal and Mou, and we are taking lessons from others experiences. We need some stability and longevity; not chaos all the time. Maybe it works for Chelsea, but our approach is more traditional. Little pain for long term benefits.

No they didn't. The hard way was David Moyes and finishing 7th. Van Gaal was got them back to 4th the following year. They finished 5th in his second season and they won the FA Cup. Mourinho stepped in, finished 6th, Won the League Cup and Europa League, then finished 2nd before burning out and finishing 6th again.

Jose and Van Gaal may not have been the best appointments but their experience at least led to Top 4 finishes and trophies. It may have been a rocky period and unstable, some good seasons, some bad, but it hasn't been a complete drop off in quality with two mid table finishes. If they had stuck it out with Moyes after finishing 7th and allowed him to finish 7th again without sacking him, then they'd be taking a similar approach to ours. They have haven't spent 5 years out of the CL and now approaching the 6th year with no European football at all. It's totally different situation.

Man U has 0 trophies since 2017 and has spent almost as much as City during that time. £90m Pogba and £50m Bruno and they got schooled by Don Emery and his band of ex-Arsenal and ex-Spurs rejects.
