Flamengo are considering a January move for Arsenal's 28-year-old Spanish centre-back Pablo Mari. (Football London)

Bye

With Saliba coming in next season, we need to make space

Knowing this club it’s probably a pointless loan which does nothing for us

Typical another loan as usual with us paying some of his wages, if this was Liverpool they would get good money for him, can’t believe they got 10M for Lovren

I said from day one he was average and only looked decent because we had easy fixtures, most of you were getting exciting thinking we had a quality cb

The time he spent in the first team would’ve been better served developing Saliba.

The scanty 270 minutes Marí has played this season? I don't think so.

I kinda agree with Swipey, Mari looked comfortable in his first few games and then nothing special afterwards, he came from Brazil, why did he get a chance and Saliba didn't ?! Mari started games, Saliba didn't even get a call up.

The only reason Marí was given a chance is because Gabriel was out with a knee injuiry. As soon as he returned, Marí got dropped and struggled to even make the bench.

Our 3 backup CBs (Marí, Holding, and Chambers) have barely played this season. Following the arrival of White and with no European football Saliba would likely have met a similar fate.

Having already made 20-something appearances, and providing he stays healthy, Saliba will play 40-45 games for Marseille this season. That's surely got to be more valuable than him spending 90% of the season warming Arsenal's bench?

In other news, it looks like Marí is on his way to Udinese -

Yeah, it's better for Saliba to be out in loan if he's not starting for us. We don't rotate players well which isn't good for players development.

Yep, he's got a fit mrs as well iirc.

Anyway, still rate the guy as a good backup for Gabriel and surprised we're letting him go. He's certainly no worse than Holding who seems to be the de facto no.1 backup now but lack of game time has been an issue for our squad players.

Problem we have is no real games left to field squad players so we're only keeping them around for injuries, otherwise you play Gabriel-White in every game no question.

Hopefully does well in Italy, was shocking last time we saw him here but the whole team was shit at the start of this season.
