Is the Invincibles record under threat?

Postby Jedi » Fri Dec 27, 2019 11:42 pm

I know Liverpool are not even halfway there, but before you say this thread is reactionary i would invite you to look at the very worrying run they're on currently:

Since their only loss last season they've gone 27 games unbeaten, which is a feat by itself but what's even more staggering is that they've won 26 games and only drew a single one.

Image

Considering they only slipped once last season, and that they already have the league in the bag, will Liverpool try to go for the Invincibles record? Will they settle for draws to try to do the unthinkable? Will it be down to Arteta and the boys to stop them*?

Are we worried yet?

*God help us all if it comes down to that

Yep. It’s a distinct possibility. On quality and form no one is beating them. An upset or injury crisis is the only thing I can think of.

Its tiresome people clawing their eyes out over this every year.

Look at the history books, look at the statistics, then wind your neck in

But..... but..... but.....

But nothing.

Oh, i don't think it's going to happen. I just think we're at the point where it's worth discussing. Again, they only had one loss last season. All they need to do is match that form and avoid that one slip up.

Its not worth discussing

You realise they gave us a golden trophy right?

That was for a reason. Ask a bookie the difference in the odds on them losing none and losing at least one, then you'll see

And Liverpool will get a golden trophy if they go unbeaten?

Not sure what your point is.

I think if they get the treble they’ve cemented the best season in Prem history

This team far far better than United’s treble winning side imo

The point very obviously is that they gave a golden trophy because it was truly extraordinary

No need to worry. They will lose to a random team like Crystal Palace out of nowhere.

Incredible run by Liverpool, 26 wins in 27 games is unbelievable and in a way trumps the unbeaten run we had as they've dropped just two points in 81.

It's hard to see who's going to beat them, they can blow teams away and just as well grind out results as well, only some sort of inuury crisis can stop them.

They've pretty much won the league this season and they won the CL last season, they're an incredible team.

Liverpool are the best team in English football history. Now if they could keep Klopp and do it for ten years they would be at the RM/Barca level. But then Barca and RM have the advantage of club owned TV rights and weaker competition.

Liverpool did this without oil money, stayed within the financial boundaries, bought the right players for the right prices at the right time of their careers, and most importantly moved for the best manager in football while we stuck with Wenger six years too long. Good for the Scousers. Loyal to a fault, sock thieving bastards that they are.
