He's a CB in one of England's top defensive sides. There's no way we should be considering a sale this summer. Maybe next summer if he doesn't want to extend.

The Independent reports that Arsenal have placed a £50 million ($59m) asking price on Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhaes.

Serie A giants Juventus have been credited with interest in the South American as questions are asked of Matthijs de Ligt’s future in Turin.

I don't like it, Gab is one of my faves but if the right deal can be struck any club would consider it.

My stipulations would be, how ready is Saliba to play no1, can we buy a just as good CB and get change from the transfer fee?

If none of that is positive then we should keep him, we certainly shouldn't be selling at a cut price, I can tell you that much.

At £50m we'd stand to make a £23m profit, but the issue is that £27m doesn't buy you a ready replacement ........look how much we spent on White ffs.

.........I'm actually thinking we've well got our monies worth keeping Gab long term.

Would rather sell White and recoup what we can from the 50 million we spent, Gabriel is much better.

Can't argue.

Actually you're right, why the fk sell Gab for £50m just to make a profit when we're spending £50m on CB's not even as good as Gab?

Yeah fk that, keep Gab and just be happy we under paid for a great CB, that's where the saving is.

Gabriel is very underrated. He's already one of the best left sided CBs in the league and at 24 has the potential to be one of the best CBs in europe. If we sell him for 40-50m we'll be kicking ourselves cos he'll be worth a lot more than that in a few years time imo.

We would be very stupid indeed to let Gabriel go - would be better to give him a new contract.

Has any of this actually been reported by any decent sources like Ornstein or Romano?

As far as I can see it’s just been paper talk and random footy websites.

Any young player with prospect will be a target for recruiters. It is the responsibility of the parent club how they deal w/the situation. If he's deemed indispensable, either set a ridiculous price or just advertise the player isn't for sale.
I think we are following that proven strategy ( like most clubs). So, I'm not surprised that Sakas & Gabbys will set the tongue wagging.
I think we're past that period when others were poaching our players at will ( remember the time when Cesc, Nasri Song, RVP were
picked up at will and we spent sleepless nights in trepidation).
Since then, others have left, but more due to performance or incompatibility issue.
I can only remember Sanchez leaving but even he had slipped a bit from his red hot form ( and we all know what has happened afterwards).
The current problem is getting the value for the buck or getting duped unwittingly.
