Luckily Wenger himself would veto a return.

Funny enough that is true

Wenger and Mislintat would have been a great combo. But Wenger’s bloody arrogance kept him from embracing Mislintat. And his irrational loyalty to Rawley.

Wenger wouldn't be worse than Emery, but that's not a high bar to clear.

In the history of the premier league only three managers have shown consistency — SAF, Mou and Wenger. Klopp and Pep very well may as well but neither has been here longer than four years. So the odds on finding a top long term successor for Wenger were always going to be low.

Stabilizing the defense and playing with some attacking flair shouldn't be rocket science for any decent coach. It's not an unachievable target. No one's asking the new coach to wipe off Wengers legacy, all we are asking for is a coach who's improve upon Wenger's and Emery's failures.

Wenger is guaranteed to get us top four with the current squad. People need to just come to their senses and get him back.

With what attacking midfielders?

Wengers squads always had too many attacking mids. We don't have one proper good attacking mid currently.

Ceballos is best used as a CM, he's Xavi with the mindest of Iniesta but lacks the penetration to score and provide enough assists in the final 3rd. He's not quick, he has zero power, he can't cover large areas of the pitch, he can't run at players at pace. This is why he does his best work in deeper areas. He's incompetent in the final 3rd.

Matteo has no goal threat for assists or scoring in the final 3rd, he's not the fastest player and isn't that good technically and has no vision to dictate things in the final 3rd. Hes best used in deeper areas.

Torreria is a DM who Emery is trying to convert into a Box to box player which suits him also. Thing is he's such a limited player really. He can tackle brilliantly, he's got great energy, he's fast enough to cover large areas of midfield but that's it. His all round game is bang average. Hes a good passer from deep but lacks the technique to be competent in he final 3rd consistently.

And that's it for senior players! Ozil can't even make a positive impact vs Watford with Ceballos behind him. He can't make an impact playing vs Forest so good luck him doing anything consistently. Fundamentally he doesn't move enough anymore to find space to make his passes count, that shows from his pitiful numbers of assists and goals last season.

Willock is a hole player, hes about physicallity and speed, hes not a gifted player or creator. ESR is still way too raw to play there.

Reiss Nelson is a Messi wannabe, he lacks the vision and passing skills to play as a attacking mid. Martinelli is similar in that he's an explosive player. He's not a creator.

Now please show me anyone on this forum in the media even who have done an honest assessment on our squads abilities like this?

I have gone though our entire midfield roster plus included two 'attackers' to show we do not have any attacking mids who are reliable in ability. But yet you wonder why we don't create?

So Emery will leave, fair enough, doesn't manager who we bring in. We are screwed!

Wenger has a history of playing CMs out wide - Nasri, Arshavin, even Cazorla on occasion. It’s to balance the midfield with the attack while giving opportunities to create from wide areas.
AMN is only a stopgap till Bellerin returns.

Ok. Lets just cut to the chase.

Cebalos—Ozil—Pepe
—-Guandozi—Torreira

That's not going to work, there is zero, absolutely zero defensive resistance in that midfield anywhere. We will concede a minimum of 20 shots per game and i can see those 6-0, 8-2, 5-1 humiliations happening weekly with that team.

Not to mention even in attack!

- If Auba isn't scoring who the hell else will score?
- Ozil is too slow and shit on the ball to get into positions to pass and assist at Premier League level. His pitify assits last season show he's not the same player anymore
- Pepe needs the ball at least 30 meters from goal to possibly make assists and isn't good enough to score goals consistently from open play.
- Ceballos doesn't work whatsoever in wide positions, he does not have the physical attributes to work out there.
- Matteo will have too much responsibility in deep areas to keep possession and has nobody around him when he loses the ball to win it back, he's not a strong player or a great tackler.

It doesn't matter who's in defence, there is no hope of it getting proper protection with that midfield. Only one player can tackle and that Torreria and he's not a strong player who will add physicality. he's just good at tackling. That midfield will be overrun by almost every Premier League side bar Norwich.

This has been our biggest issue for years, our midfield doesn't protect our defence, now the issue is our attack is so incompetent due to the lack of any attacking mids the ball comes back at us too frequently which is why we make so many errors!

Wenger has a history of playing CMs out wide - Nasri, Arshavin, even Cazorla on occasion.

We do not have those type of players to do that anymore! Nasri and Arshavin where never CM's anyway. Only Carzola was eventually. Also Ceballos and Ozil are not even close right now to being anywhere near as good as these guys you mentioned where.

Torreira - Ball winner
Guandozi - ball carrier
Cebelos - metronome
Ozil - creator in the final third

It’s brilliant. Bring Wenger back now.

Oh leave off!! The only thing Wenger would guarantee is that he would concede goals, get whopped by a few teams - humiliations, be uncompetitive against the top 6.

Wenger was rubbish in the end, as much as I don't like/rate Emery, Wenger was worse.
