As it stands, still not impressed with this guy. With all the smoke about a big January, it has been underwhelming so far. Wondering how much backing he has had from the Board and has it all gone to plan so far.

Why is this guy getting praise on social media ffs, he’s brought in Brighton’s backup keeper and may get a Madrid flop on loan.

This guy is another failure at Arsenal.

Contributes nothing to the team atall.

Get rid.

Has a week to pull something together. A 6 month loan move and buying deadwood out of their contracts won't cut it.

There won't be much by way of cash deals done in this window.

Loans and free transfers and maybe swap deals would be more likely.

Globally clubs have lost billions in income due to this pandemic and the vast majority are not in a position to splash cash.

He seems to be a master at showing how much work he's doing without actually doing any significant work. Kinda like the corporate scene today.

Triggered a release clause = GOAT.

A loan deal = double GOAT.

Paid over the odds for a player Chelsea fans never rated = Prem-winning purchase.

Failed when he had to negotiate = Aouar.

Would make a better scout could focus on finding more Martinelli and Mari type players in Brazil.

Solid window from Edu. I didn't envisage Ozil leaving until his contract expired in the summer, so that's a huge plus, and am pleased to see Kolasinac and Sokratis out the door. Ryan and Odegaard are decent loan signings that address the positions where we needed depth.

That's his biggest asset IMO. With Cacigao gone, who knows what's happening on the scouting front?

City and Utd are now recruiting directly from South America and bidding up prices. Before, you'd need to wait for the players to join a Serie A/La Liga side, then bring them here, usually at very high fees. We can't afford not to be active there.

It also seems like Brexit has made it easier to sign South American talent, and (obviously) put up barriers when it comes to signing Europeans.

Yeah I’d use him to bring in South American talent, there’s always some real gems there, other than Martinelli there hasn’t been much on that score.

I expected us to unearth more young Brazilian talents given his knowledge of the Brazilian market, disappointed it hasn’t happened to be honest.

Pablo Mari looks solid, I think that was an Edu call. Gabriel was apparently Cagigao's last recommendation before he was sacked.

The one thing you have to admire is AFC's media machine.

This is the same organisation that tried to praise their own owner for coming to the rescue to sign Partey on deadline day.

............... I mean, they do realise he was the one holding it all up right? there was no negotiation, we waited till deadline day, wait for it.

For a player who had a fkin buyout clause ffs.

AFC were like, "Oh you know, these things aren't easy, you have to negotiate, see if the club is happy to sell him" blah blah blah when all we really needed was for Stan to sign the £40m cheque.

Praising an owner to release funds like any other owner in the world, like I said, have to admire the brass on the AFC BS machine.
