Marina Granovskaia and Michael Edwards are both available.

Would be our best signing since Big Wengz.

We've got multiple links to players in France, Netherlands and most agents have players across all leagues now so really don't see us being limited.

If anything I think he's helped so far to try and identify some prospects in those leagues you mentioned, only time will tell with Tavares/Marquinhos if they were good finds.

Just wish we'd get deals over the line a bit quicker but as I said before this was a fundamental issue for the last 15 years at Arsenal, not really Edu specific.

Yes we’ve been very slow doing any business for a long time, it seems to be because we go on with lowball offers and slowly increment them, usually this leads to other clubs making a reasonable offer and buying the player we bid for, or the club we make the offer to getting annoyed and not wanting to sell us the player.

We also seem to like to go after players who have already decided they want to go somewhere else.

It happened before Edu, there was Suarez and Higuain for example. You can even go back to Baptista who said he wanted to stay in Spain to get his Spanish passport but we chased him all window only for him to go to Madrid (he did come to us once he’s failed at Madrid).

If we really want someone we should just go in with an offer close to the asking price, the bud for Raphinha was something like 30 million and Leeds wanted closer to 65, I don’t know what we were thinking or if we were really serious with an offer like that.

Man City getting 14m for academy midfielder Romeo Lavia from Soton.

Meanwhile Edu can't get 15m for Fiorentina's best player last season Torreira.

Soton have money though, Italian clubs don't. There's a good case for sending players on loan to PL clubs only....they have money to convert loans into permanent deals.

Seems to be doing a better job than he's credited for especially on this site.

Some of Edu criticism is on the back of years of Arsenal rolling over in the transfer market, we have systemically rolled over from the Aw later days this is going to be hard to turn around and may only be able to turn around on the back of club success

Edu's job is not that hard. He has a lever labeled "MORE ££" that can he pull when needed. He's pulled it for Partey, Willian and Jesus.

For the first two we paid way over the odds in terms of wages. Jesus looks like the first player who might actually be worth it.

Yep. So far we have paid the market value or over the market value for a lot of players but have been able to sell players at market value. We've been giving players away. That needs to improve because the money lever won't always be there. We'll see how this window ends. Hopefully, we can raise some funds from player sales.

Arsenal director Edu has attracted interest from "more than two" European clubs, reports Fabrizio Romano.

The Brazilian's name "has been discussed internally" but Edu is said to be "100% focused" on Arsenal.

The first question in his interview will be "Can you get us another Martinelli?"

Him and Arteta are becoming the new Dein and Wenger. We need to keep him imo.

Part of the duo that have engineered the best squad rebuild and club turnaround in PL history.
Have to keep him in place.
No surprise he’s wanted by other clubs.
