Hopefully they've identified more hard working players who have some fight in them when things don't go so smoothly.

The problem players in the squad have to go. Those that can simply turn up to a game and not bother or give up as soon as it gets difficult.
Some of them have gone - more are left to get rid of.
One of the things that gives me a good feeling about the window - the character of the players who have been brought in. Good signs, but we'll see when the rubber hits the road.

We're bottom of the league without any goals.

Before that, we came off the worst pre-season in years.

Before that, we finished out of Europe for the first time in a quarter century.

Just how much more patience is Arteta to be afforded?

Surely one of the main necessities to be a top side is to have enough depth that your performances stay at a high level even if you are a few first teamers short :dontknow:

He’s basically admitting that if we get a few injuries we are done. That is a preposterous attitude. Losers mentality

Every club has to deal with injuries, it’s a sorry ready made excuse.

Spent 130m on players to boost the squad, and then plays players he is trying to remove from the club.
Imo there is a power struggle happening between Edu and Arteta,
Why would you not play your signings but play players you want away or have stated they want away.

Well, the rebuild is on the right track:

A year later, and it's coming into focus. As things currently stand, it seems like he wasn't too optimistic after all. CL qualification to bring in a top-shelf CF and CM/DM, and the club will be back.

Still need reinforcements this window to give us a better shot at CL qualification for next season, though.

He assumes the rest of the league stands still. City already miles ahead. If Liverpool and Chelsea invest again and United get their act together we are in the distance.

And Spurs, do we include them whilst they have Conte?
