Saliba is 6'4". That's quite tall to be a mobile defender.
Gabby is shorter than that. Besides, Gabby has already proven himself to be mobile and agile.

Yes, hell need to learn more in terms reading the game to make up for it.. he's not particularly agile in terms of change of direction but neither was Mertesacker - who I think you mentioned.

So has Saliba. Go watch videos of his covering speed and the way he deals with direct players. Slow/flat footed players cant do what he can do. Its on YouTube if you can be bothered to do your own homework.

Mobile and fast are different things.
Saliba is quick. I was quite surprised how quick he looks, but he’s also shown that he lacks mobility in terms of change of direction. Would like to see him improve upon that.

I think he's got pace, speed and quickness.

That's 3 plusses

No. That’s where he needs to improve if he is going to make it in the PL.

Maybe one the traits that has put off the current management.

He isn't slow, and he's barely any taller than Gabriel.

Easily 3 inches taller

This being said, does nobody remember that video from 2 seasons ago of him out pacing and tackling a peak performance Ben Yedder who was Auba kind of quick? the gif was floating around here a lot back then.

That's valid

Mobile would be the ability to change pace quickly or direction
Fast is just sprinting, in a straight line pace

Wilshere I would say was slow, but mobile. Iniesta likewise.
Antonio Rudiger was one of the fastest players earleir this season, but wouldn't say he's mobile per se.

He’s a top talent, there’s no doubt about that. We’d be foolish not to bring him back.

He’s been very good for Marseille this season.

At this rate I'd take a no-nonsense manager like Sampaoli.

We're excusing our league position with reasons like "young, inexperienced squad", after spending £150m.

Sampaoli is 2nd in the table with a 20yo loan CB and a 21yo loan CM putting in 90 mins week after week.
