By all accounts another top performance.

The conversation will shift from Arteta being an arse to, why did we spend £50m on White, because, I don't see Saliba or White playing on the left of the 2 central CBs and Saliba looks incredible on the right if the CB pairing.

Top performance tonight.
Yeah, fair play. You were right, your Gabriel-Saliba thread was bang on the money

If Tierney and Tomiyasu are not available, yes. White did quite well, made some good defending (a very good defending against Alonso is the highest point) and tried to help the players in front of him (almost scores with a rocket from distance). Zinchenko doesn't look out of place either.

It’s just friendlies but he has looked very accomplished, I agree about White, I thought the same last summer, 50 million spent when we needn’t have.

Has to be Gabriel and Saliba.

White is a 3 in one. He can play as full back, CB and DM. He is a pretty good acquisition. As the team improves his qualities will show up more.
Actually our defense seems pretty versatile right now. Tomi also capable of playing RB and CB, Zinchenko as LB, CM. Above all they're young and fast.

Gab-Saliba could be the best CB pairing since Sol-Toure.

White will have to play 3rd fiddle.

Grrrr

I had this row with someone on here years ago lol

It's second, not third. If he is understudy to two centre backs that makes them jointly first choice and him second choice

Honestly, White and Tomi are more similar than Cedric. It would make sense to use a similar replacement while Tomi is injured. However, it probably means we should sign another CB like Tapsoba for extra cover.

William Saliba is once again seeing a permanent move to Marseille speculated on, but CaughtOffside claims that Arsenal would only accept a “crazy” offer for the defender.

The highly-rated French centre-half has been absorbed back into the Gunners fold this summer after spending time back in his homeland on loan.
