We're excusing our league position with reasons like "young, inexperienced squad", after spending £150m.

Sampaoli is 2nd in the table with a 20yo loan CB and a 21yo loan CM putting in 90 mins week after week.

We spent £150 on young players.
The strategy is very transparent, and correct IMO.
If you want immediate success and the consistency of top experienced players, you will have to look elsewhere.
Sampaoli is not 2nd by the way. That is Liverpool.
I don't give a f**k what is happening outside the PL in weak leagues.

Should be another huge sale.
With all the big clubs coming in for Guendouzi too, we should be looking at £150m to £200m for him and Saliba.
Looking forward to the big bids coming in. Exciting.

He'll have been instructed by his agent to say that.

If he's under contract he'd be due compensation should we decide to sell. Unless he says he wants to leave. So he won't say he wants to leave.

Who cares. If he wants to win decent silverware then he will go elsewhere.

Hope he comes back in the summer.
Will be great to have depth at CB. I think with some experience in the PL and some improvement in certain areas, Saliba can be better than Holding as the 3rd CB.
Good option.
Looks like Arteta has played this one perfectly.

Reiss wrote:Being monitored by Real Madrid apparently.

Will only have 2 years left on his contract when he's back in the summer and if recent comments are anything to go by he may not sign a new one. Which means we won't be able to sell him for much.

Will we even be able to make a profit on him now? Oh dear.

With 2 years left ion his contract if Real Madrid want him, that's excellent news.
He'll either stay and fight for a place or we can sell him.
Win/Win.
