Gunners step up efforts to land Brazilian starlet

Arsenal have stepped up their interest in Brazilian teenager Gabriel Martinelli by asking about his availability, claims the Daily Mail.

Goal revealed in February that the Gunners are keen on the highly-rated 17-year-old who has been starring in his homeland for fourth tier outfit Ituano and has previously taken in trials at Manchester United and Barcelona.

Yeah sounds like the sort of player who will turn out to be either another Wellington Silva if we sign him or the next Neymar if we miss out on him.

Arsenal have beaten 25 other teams to the signature of forward Gabriel Martinelli according to Yahoo Esporte.
The Gunners are waiting for the 17-year-old Ituano player to receive his Italian passport before making the announcement.

Martinelli's transfer fee is around £5 million, with the Gunners beating out the likes of Barcelona, Palmerias and Leeds for his signature.

He reminds me of Alexis.

loves to turn in midfield
erratic dribbling
relying mostly on his right foot
chip balls from just outside the penalty area

Let's hope his attitude is better.

Looks like a ball carrier who needs to work on his shooting technique, ball control, and decision making; especially decision making. If we sign him, I can see him being a frustrating player at times but possibly brilliant at others due to his combination of pace, dribbling style, and ability to get past players. Similar to Sanchez in this way, but can't atm see him getting anywhere near Sanchez's level given the weaknesses I can see.

They kept a PDF copy of his top targets, at the mo we dont need him if they have that. In 2 years time however....

Still, its probs cheaper to hire a private investigator to snoop on his dealings than pay the man to actually do his job.

Elite business from arsenal....
