Thought he was actually pretty poor when he came on but then I did switch off after 5-10 mins. Good run for the goal but more about the ball in fairness to Odegaard that was class.

Gabi needs to work on his decision making for sure but he should be doing that by being on the pitch more.

The pass was a good one, but a lot of strikers would not have scored from it. Gabi is so aggressive at attacking the ball. He was a bit lucky with the touch he eventually got to loop it up for the tap in, but he got there and bullied his way across the defender.

I do agree he needs to work on end product - but it's there. I was surprised to see that per 90 mins he is the best in our entire squad at creating good chances.

I agree and disagree he positioned his thigh on purpose to let the ball drop to the ground as any other touch and bounces into the keepers arms; the ball fell nicely after that; however the speed of taught and body adjustment made in those milliseconds still stands out as special.

Great goal, I doubt he'd get that kind of service at Arsenal if last season is anything to go buy. Tippy-tappy creates a packed defence.

I understand why a lot of people still view his position within the team as a left winger but I am hopeful that a couple more goals similar to this one will further unlock and encourage his game to bloom as an out and out striker more reminiscent of Romario than Ronaldinho in that respect.

Azeez wore 35 today. New kit number incoming, perhaps?

Maybe he’s leaving? Could you blame him?

#9 when Laca goes, that would explain why nothing has been announced.

For me, it would be remiss of Arteta bordering on gross negligence to have not exploited the connections Edu has with the Brazilian football establishment, to then have raided the archives for all the available footage of Romario in order to create a digital dossier for Martinelli to study every day in order to hone his own goalscoring prowess.

We have a team full of WF's.

We'd be so better off playing 2 up front in a LF & RF positions.

It would solve so many problems.

Auba, Pepe, Martinelli and Balogun who is more a traditional #9 but could easily play in a front two.

This would over night solve our striker problem.

The likes of Pepe and Auba etc may not be great picks as a lone CF but as a LF or RF they're ideal with their shooting ability, skill and pace.

This won't happen because it would be going back to Emery's system of playing two forwards up top. That setup led to 50 goals between Laca and Auba in 18/19 plus 10 assists for Laca.

Arteta wants to imprint his own style. 1.5 seasons on, we're still wondering what that is.
