Hi there guys!
I'm a 20 y/o German arsenal fan (since the 05/06 days) and I've just created an account here wanting to ask a particular question I didn't find the answer to elsewhere!

So basically as we all know we can qualify for the CL by getting 5th in the league (which looks f**cking likely given yesterday's performance) if we win the Europa League.

Now if we do not win the Europa and finish 5th, however Chelsea do win it and finish 4th, does that then mean that we do still qualify for the CL?

And does this change if an English side wins the CL also?

In other words: can we qualify for the CL without winning the Europa League and getting 5th in the league? If so, what possibilities are there ?

I understand that at 6th there is no way to qualify , as only 5 teams of a country are allowed to be in the CL, but I'm just assuming we'll finish in front of ManU.

Thanks for you replies guys, and let's hope we can beat Leicester and Chelsea lose, so that we have this top 4 race back in our hands!!!

Only we qualify for CL is top 4 or win the Europa. Thats it

Good question about how we qualify. Perhaps it would be the runner up in the EL that would qualify if Chelsea won the EL and finished in the top 4. I have no odea how it works.

For the CL. Wasn't there a scenario that happened a few years ago, Chelsea winning the EL got them into the CL and that took Spurs' CL place away from them???

Yeah back then that was possible. They changed the rules since then.

If Chelsea or Arsenal finish 5th but win the EL they take the CL spot away from the team that have finished 4th. That team would instead go into next season’s EL.

So that means we could finish 4th and if Chelsea win EL then we will have our CL spot taken off us?

Is that true?...We would be better off winning EL then?
