You’re right Phil (not that I ever doubted you) just read about it.

It’s particularly true if Liverpool or Spurs win CL and Chelsea win EL. Even if we come 4th we won’t qualify.

From Talksport

Liverpool are already assured of a top four spot, along with Manchester City but the other four clubs in the mix certainly aren’t.

Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are all vying for the two remaining spots.

If English teams were to win both European tournaments, the Premier League’s fourth-placed team would not qualify for the Champions League and instead would drop into the Europa League group stages.

For example, if Tottenham finished fifth and Arsenal finished six but both won in Europe, Manchester United could finish fourth but only qualify for the Europa League.

Winning the EL is definitely the safest bet.

Having said that, I don’t think Chelsea will get past Frankfurt, so we might have two cracks at it.

Never

Chelsea with hazard cant beat united who lost 7 of the last 9 games? They have much better chance than us beating lesta

Hazard has never been on the winning side at old Trafford
Ozil , monreal , koscielny and cech have all been on the winning side at Leicester

For the CL. Wasn't there a scenario that happened a few years ago, Chelsea winning the EL got them into the CL and that took Spurs' CL place away from them???

We qualify for the CL if we finish top 4 or win the EL

No other way

Chelsea won the CL in 2012 to knock Spurs who had finished 4th in to the EL

Chelsea won the EL the year later but they hadn't given the winners CL qualification at that time
