Dont you want entertaining matches against decent opposition?

I dont understand people wanting easy draws

A lot of strong team are left in the competition and all of the touted favorites drew a team they should be beating.

Napoli, Chelsea, Sevilla, Benfica Inter and Valencia all have relatively generoous draws, including us.

I'm not suggesting all of them will progress per definition but it's clear that most of them will, meaning it's only a matter of time before we end up facing one of them.

And then again in the semis and/or final should we manage to make it that far.

What's certain is that we will not be getting the Anderlecht-Sociedad-Ajax anomaly cakewalk United got a few years ago.

Frankfurt is the dark horse in this competition no really outstanding player but a good team. They will beat Inter.

Yes considering the fact that Frankfürt are a team full of consistent steady-eddies and Inter are erratic, I wouldn't be at all surprised.

Salzburg are a super solid team as well and had a strong case for being dark horses until they drew Napoli today.

I still wouldn't rule Salzburg out completely, but Napoli are favorites to win the competition imo.

He's going home

They got any decent players?

He did in 02/03 before signing for chelsea
Kaba diawara was there on loan from Bordeaux in 97/98
He played 15 games for us in 98/99 and we won 13 and drew 2 of them
Mikel silvestre played a season there as well
Wiltord played there for the first 6 years of his career
Later going on to set up the champions section at old Trafford

Its obvious, innit. We stand a better chance of getting to the next round, playing mediocre teams. Lets face it, we scraped past Bate, so the worse the oppo the better currently!

We lost at home to ostersunds last season
Then lost our next 3 games before winning in Milan

Won the away game 4-1 though
Just like his team won the other 5 games against them scoring a further 18 goals and conceding 3

If we don't slap them up Emery should get a slap. We should do, don't care who they have playing for them, they are Rennes FFS.

Apparently this has caused a lot of outrage among our fans.

Don't mind this at all tbh.

Get at least one away goal and finish the tie on our own turf.

The fans who are outraged are the ones who jumped straight on the internet to book cheap flights and hotels, why wasn't the possibility of Chelsea and Arsenal both getting home draws not considered and plans made in advance ... because it's all about TV, the fans don't count that's why.

The club should cover the costs, it can't be that many fans but every one will be a lifelong gooner ...

Fair enough but someone who bothers educating oneself with UEFA's regulations before hastily spending three figures on travel expenses and hotels would not have this issue.

Rennes have some very technically players (Niang Ben Arfa Grenier) we'd better watch out because it won't be easy to get through
