Is this net though? Cos I saw another graphic where the Glazers have taken 89m out of Utd so might actually be worse.

Not a finance expert, is he screwing us?

Certainly not, he's essentially doing nothing, money wise. Taken about 6m out and put nothing in.

Hopefully it stays like that, best we can hope for I doubt he will put money in

He's not screwing us in the sense of taking money out of the club like the Glazers are at United, but he's also not investing a penny of his own money in the club which isn't the case for the nearly all the league.

I thought I remember reading somewhere that Kroenke had invested some of his money into the club recently. If this is true then you have to feel sorry for any Arsenal manager. We are indeed competing with one hand tied behind our backs

He bought the debt, that was it.

Better than nothing at least, i.e. assuming the debt was a large amount. Still needs to do a whole lot more to win me over mind you

It's just one side of the coin though, KSE might not invest but they don't take out either, they pay Josh a huge fee but all clubs have highly paid Directors family or otherwise. Where KSE have put up cash is taking over 160m in high interest loans and refinancing them at much lower rates ... that's obviously good for them, but it's also very good for the club.

KSE's ownership like the vast majority of UK owners is broadly neutral, nothing in - nothing out. In the EPL if you look at the top six over the last five years you have two sugar daddy clubs - Chelsea and City both with >300m owner funding - Liverpool received 93m in loans (but spent 110m on their new stand) - Spurs received 40m in short term loans (but spent 850m on a new ground) and Man Utd and Arsenal have both had zero owner funding.

Liverpool and Spurs spend the money they earn in transfers the same as us. We are not in a unique situation at all.

We’ve been in a unique position for years wrt owner financing but things appear to be slowly getting better now.

Unfortunately for us, clubs like Liverpool, City, and Chelsea can most likely afford to go a few seasons now without owner financing due to their owners investing large amounts of their money early and into their squads. It mostly explains why Chelsea escaped their transfer ban pretty much unscathed. Had our owners been more proactive early on we would not have needed to sell players who we needed to stay longer than they did both for financial and competitive reasons, we would not be trying to close a 20+ point gap on the PL leaders every season, and we would not be fighting to get back into the CL right now.

Kroenke has played a major role in screwing us over for years and he owes it to every Arsenal fan to make things right. Buying out the debt and ensuring that we have the right people in every senior management position is a step in the right direction but we’ve clearly been taking baby steps when most of us want giant strides.

Liverpool sold their best players to fund their transfers. To my knowledge the only investment KSE made into Liverpool was development of the ground and training ground, etc.

Liverpool's net spend
2019/20 - £9.36m in, £37.44m out
2018/19 - £163.98m in, £37.19m out
2017/18 - £156.49m in, £175.05 out
2016/17 - £71.9m in, £76.84m out
2015/16 - £113.85m in, £81.5m out
2014/15 - £136.29m in, £89.34m out
2013/14 - £52.29m in, £29.25m out
2012/13 - £63.54m in, £9.41m out
2011/12 - £59.87m in, £20.61 out
2010/11 - £87.95m in, £91.35m out.

For the 10 years KSE have owned Liverpool, their net spend on transfers is £267.54m, £26.7m per season which would be more than a reasonable amount for the club itself to fund as an annual transfer budget and not need KSE to spend their money on it. Lets compare to Arsenal in the last 10 years:

2019/20 - £144.36m in, £48.29m out.
2018/19 - £72.14m in, £7.11m out.
2017/18 - £137.57m in, £142.2m out
2016/17 - £101.74m in, £9.32m out.
2015/16 - £23.85m in, £2.25m out
2014/15 - £107.08m in, £25.02m out.
2013/14 - £44.33m in, £10.94m out
2012/13 - £50.4m in, £59.27m out.
2011/12 - £58.93m in, £70.46m out
2010/11 - £20.7m in, £7.29m out.

Net spend for Arsenal over the past 10 years, £378.95m, £37.8m per season.

Liverpool have spent less than us over the past 10 years, KSE have more than likely not spent a penny of their money on transfers. We keep harping on about not having money to spend and owner spending being our issue when clearly it has nothing to do with either !! Its been a series of poor management decisions, at board level and from the manager(s).
