His versatility is really useful

One of very few players that can play multiple positions with very little drop off

Don't think he's really looked great in the 8.
He's a good option in the 9 position, but probably 3rd choice and he's a top quality back up to Martinelli on the left.

He’s our best number 9, much more predatory there and the best finisher of the 3.

2 spots open atm

8 and 9. Both have inadequate options and unfortunately he can't do both at the same time. Maybe that's why he's hated by some?

Ultimately its a question of who's worse out of Jesus and havertz and who Trossard replaces

Jesus hassles defences and takes them out of their comfort zone, something we neeed when we go into tippy tappy mode.

I’d rather have Odegard at 8 and Trossard at 10.

Best 8 is probably Havertz - mainly because he is more secure but as we've seen can also break forward and score.
Best 9 is Jesus
Best LW is Martinelli

Trossards value is that he can play all of those positions when needed and he delivers when he's called upon.
Good for the squad and helps massively when we have injuries.

Trossards route into the team on a more regular basis is probably at LW - his best position - but he's behind Martinelli and time is not on his side.
It's tough to displace a 21yr old when they are so good.

8 is Trossard for me, Havertz isn’t even in the conversation

9 Trossard again, because he’s better than Jesus at getting into scoring positions and staying more central

LW would be Martinelli but it has to be said he has 1 goal in 12 games this season which isn’t good enough, so Trossard maybe should get a chance

I suspect Havertz is very much in the conversation given how well he has played recently.
I dont think there is any doubt that Jesus is the first choice 9.
Martinelli is just too good and scares the life out defenders - His play contribute massively to opening up teams. Probably equally to Saka and second only to Jesus on that score.

Not for me, IMO he has been awful and isn’t that talented. You can see others don’t want him either.

With regards Jesus, I’ve always said my preference is for a CF who is hungry to get goals and stays more central, Jesus doesn’t do that, good as a sub against tired defences but not a starter over Trossard for me.

Martinelli is very good but his output is quite low this season and he isn’t scaring defences much this season, he’s been a bit too predictable if anything and teams have realised that he’s always trying to get to the byline and stop him doing so.

I rate him but don’t think we’re seeing the best of him.
