Worth noting he's two footed as well. Can play on the left and right.

Apparently Boehly has just put a 50m bid in!

Yeah, 5 of 7 goals this season have come off his left foot.

He's a good player but with his age, he doesn't fit the mold of the project.

I wouldn't exactly call him a panic signing, but he's clearly being brought in mostly with this season in mind, imo.

As long as Trossard is able to replicate his Brighton form, his age is a non-issue for me as all players in our front line are younger than 25. It's all about getting the right balance between youth and experience. That doesn't mean we should be signing 28-year-olds in every position from here onwards, but you get the point.

Midfield is a bigger concern as both Partey and Xhaka turn 30 and 31 this year. For all we know they still have 3-4 seasons in them, but that's not something we should bank on. I don't take any pleasure in saying this about Elneny and Lokonga, but the drop-off in quality is significant—probably more so than in any other position.

If we pay anything over £20m I think it's a big gamble. Anything under and I'm happy.

It depends how much we pay for him, what his wage is and how long his contract will be. We could end up with another old player on a lot of money. I agree we need someone to hit the ground running though, because of this I'm sure the player, Brighton and the agent will play hard ball. Why do we always have to be rushing to get in players before the deadline thus meaning we pay more than we need to.

Apart from Tienrey and Tommi, who always seem to be injured, the drop off on the bench is huge.

That's a concern but one that can be remedied in the summer and, by all accounts, that will be the top priority.

Sadly, I don't think you can get anyone much better than Elneny and Lokonga in January so unless a golden opportunity arises we'll have to survive with what we've got.

Yeh hes 28 but with Mudryk gone and it being difficult to get signings in January, I think we realized we had to be less strict considering the circumstances (title race).

Yeah, that's fair. It's also no easy feat to find a player who's able to do the things Partey does for us.

The social media kill me. Some don't want him because he's too old. Some don't want him because he's too cheap. :rofll:
