He’ll get chances, get settled and do much better than he has been. Leaving him on the bench til he shows otherwise in training and use martinelli for now.

Yeah break your record and treat the player like any other player. Big clubs don’t do this. The only loser here will be Arsenal who will lose financially. As Allen Iverson said.....we talking about training

Plus Hazard has been notorious for being lackluster in practice.

Some players just don't switch on until the lights come on.

Well he doesn’t f***ing like the lights so far does he :dontknow:

You lot always moan about favourites being picked and guys in form not being, aside from 2 free kicks Pepe has been bang average so far since the Liverpool game. He played well there then had 4 wank games, so what’s your confidence builder say now?

He’s not settled, not in form and not in the starting lineup. Simple.

Yeah so dropping him for Saka who has been in even worse form is the way to go...

Bukayo is still very young; if he does not feature for the first team he, unlike Pépé, doesn't rot away on the bench as he'd play with the u21s.

What? Saka got a run of games after playing well against Frankfurt. Ozil is the one taking Pepe’s place now and if he continues to underperform then it’s either Martinelli or Pepe who come in.

Not really sure what everyone’s crying about, Pepe will come good but he’s not deserving of starts right now.

Apparently he's not deserving enough to come off the bench either. Clearly Saka is the better choice there.

The vast majority of our squad is not deserving of game time.

Yet, it's the new guy who gets the harshest treatment of all whilst players who have been subpar for years keep accumulating undeserved game time.

It's the lack of consistency from our previous coach that (rightfully) frustrated many Arsenal fans. It's really that simple.

Yeah said in the match thread I disagreed with that but maybe that Freddie is more familiar with Saka and probs wanted to give him a chance.

So what’s your lineup? Cos other than starting all 4 of Auba, Laca, Ozil and Pepe it seems people aren’t happy? I wanted that as well for most games but then you’re leaving the one deserving youngster on the bench in Martinelli anyway.

Just feel people need to calm down a bit, Freddie has had 1 game so what he’s done is not start and out of form player and maybe a mistake in putting Saka on ahead of him but that’s not the end of the world. Everyone is in such a rush but give Freddie time to use his squad and if a new manager comes in we’ll have to give him a few games as well.

Btw there is no way Auba and Laca aren’t starting when they’re fit so it’s 1 spot between everyone else on the RW which is why Pepe is finding it harder to get in. Willock has had more chances cos the CM’s are shit, Ceballos has also been in and out. Imo not many players have enough competition for their spot..Pepe does.

Yeah, I can see that being his reasoning when he had less than 48 hours as interim. Hopefully he gets acclimated to Pepe quickly though lol

The comment of pepe not deserving a start

If we played only the players who deserve to start through FORM

We would be starting with about 3 players

I'm of the opinion that our midfield pivot, regardless of the combination, is not able to deal with the additional defensive pressure fielding LMAP would cause. That's another discussion.

It's that he didn't even get a look in as supersub against Norwich when we were in dire need of a goal.

Ultimately, there might be an underlying reason as to why he's being passed upon. We're not privy to most of the information our head coach has, so it's pointless to further project or speculate on this matter.

New manager, probably new tactics and philosophy too. So to me, there is a clean slate, so just pick the best team. f**k what they did recently. See what they can do under Freddie's guidance.

Don’t know if you’re being serious or sarcastic but he must’ve worked with Saka in u23’s right so knows a bit more about what he can expect. I’m sure he’ll start using Pepe which is again why I’m not bothered after just 1 game, particularly when the latter has been disappointing even in his lazy sub apps (he should be busting a gut to prove himself).

I mean it was only 1 week ago v Saints, he comes on and fucks up a golden chance. OK he hit the bar later but he didn’t do too much and as much as I want him to do well he just hasn’t looked confident so far. I wanted to play him into confidence but it didn’t seem to work when he kept playing, so he needs to fight for his spot from the bench.

@VCC, like I already said, most players don’t have competition for their spots. All the CM’s have rotated but none are good enough so Xhaka and Guendouzi end up playing by default. Ozil is now back in at RW which many of us wanted, not playing well so soon it will be Martinelli getting starts. Pepe can fight his way in when we rotate through December.

Well your last two points are exactly what I don’t get, Freddie has so far not used him in 1 game. You can’t argue with Martinelli coming on ahead of him since he’s been better, the only argument is Saka which is 1 small mistake so far as a one off. The other sub was Torreira when we were being overrun in midfield so wouldn’t argue with that either.

My gripe is the massive drama that seems to have stemmed from Freddie not using him in 1 game. If he continues to not use him without an explanation then I’d understand.

I specifically mentioned our previous manager as the main culprit for Pépé's struggle to adapt (other than Pépé himself).

Also, it's perfectly possible to bring on both Martinelli and Pépé against Norwich.

Especially if you consider Lacazette hasn't scored against a non-relegated side away from home in the league in two-and-a-half years.

No drama at all. Just an observation.
