The worst thing that could now happen would be Arteta banishing Pepe. That drives his market rate to the ground and we might be forced to send him out on loan à la Guendouzi if Arteta is still manager by next summer.

The worst thing that could happen now is keeping Arteta on as manager he hasn't got a clue. He has been found out!

Missing Wenger? I am.

Never !!

I hate to say it but he'd be flying under Wenger and enjoying his football. He has enough to his game where we should be able to use his best strengths at least.

25 1/2 yo is too old to be this raw. Pepe needs remedial schooling on football basics.

Nah, I don't agree he is too old to be this raw. Don't forget, Henry was around 22 when he came to us and under Wenger's tutelage developed his goal scoring technique in 2 years (upped goal tally from 17 to 24 league goals). So 24 vs 25.5, hardly a big difference, he doesn't have Wenger nurturing him though admittedly.

Arteta is widely acknowledged as helping develop Sterling, well why the f**k is he incapable of doing the same to Arsenal players ?

In case you missed it, our other options are Willian, Nelson, AMN and maybe Willock and Nketiah if he tries either on the wing again.

At least they might stay on the pitch. ;)

You say that but I'll give it a couple of weeks before you won't want them on the pitch either.

Pepe is not technically weak at all. There is a reason the likes of Auba and Laca say Pepe is the most skillful player at Arsenal.

You wrong on two counts - firstly he's not a "young player" he's played over 200 games and 24 internationals, he's also 26 this season - and secondly Wenger screwed up the careers of many young players by pretending they were better then they actually were ... in the last few seasons playing under Wenger was anything but enjoyable for players and fans alike.

Arteta seems out of his depth with man management, but in the end so did Arsene, that and stubborn pride were his biggest failings.

Wenger wasn't good with kids. The teens that had just come straight from the Academy. But I'm saying he'd at least get something more from Pepe. When players were in their early to mid 20s he'd get something out of them. They weren't perfect but never this woeful and not someone with this sort of ability. So don't take it as a glowing reference for Wenger.

With Pepe, it's all mental. All he has to do is sharpen up on his decision making and concentration. He has the pace, strength, can dribble and great striking ability. As said, if Arteta can't work with a player that already has most of the skills but just needs to sort his head out, I don't have much hope for younger players like Nketiah, Nelson and Willock who are much further behind in terms of technique, decision making and physical development.

Pepe has a goal or assist per minute ratio better than
Pennant
Reyes
Miyachi
Gervinho
Joel Campbell
Gnabry
Iwobi
And believe it or not Overmars
Now I don’t for a second believe this tells a whole story
Overmars is one of the greatest players ever to have worn the shirt and Reyes was a very important member of the squad that won the title in 03/04

Arsenal are set for talks with Nicolas Pepe after his red card at Leeds on Sunday but are unlikely to loan out the Ivory Coast forward, 25, in January. (Times - subscription only)

Sack Arteta. Free Pepe to play his natural game.

Arteta said he accepted Pepes apology and that he's moving on.

He will probably be starting tomorrow.

Good to hear that.

The likes of? You make out like those two are the beacon of technical ability and skill.

One of them is the best player at the club, both players are considered senior players.

They should know a thing or 2 about who is and is not technically good.

Unstoppable tonight. The red card was hopefully something that motivates him to try harder and to not care as much about the public opinion.
