Arteta doesn't trust him, it's that simple, at this point just get what we can for him and bring in a replacement

Surely we can flog him to Utd for £30m or so. He's got to offer more than. The likes of Sancho and Elanga

He will have games in EU and Carabo for sure. Also, it is a long season with the WC in the middle. So expect injuries and exhaustion in plenty. Need as many squaddies as we can.
But he needs to step up when he's a chance. Can't afford to be in his usual laid back self.

Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe is wanted on loan by Nice, according to Foot Mercato.

The Ivorian is keen on the move and initial talks have already taken place.

Pepe cost Arsenal £72m but has fallen out of favour and is yet to feature this season.

Who would you have him replace?

He can replace any forward that is not having a good game as a sub. he should also be useful in games where teams sit deep and we don't have the space to run in behind them. Martinelli and Saka can beat players, Jesus can too, so that skillset is not unique to Pepe, but he can be rotated.

Look how shit Grealish has been for Man City but Pepe keeps giving him minutes, he has Foden, Silva and Mahrez to choose from, but he rotates them. At some point things will click for Grealish. Pepe hasn't even been as bad as Grealish, at least he scores goals.

People will start bitching when the injuries to Martinelli and Saka come.

Goal contributions - Arsenal career all comps:
Martinelli - every 144 mins
Saka - every 191 mins, every 160 mins if you take away games played at LB
Emile smith-Rowe - every 191 mins
Pepe - every 137 mins.

Disagree, thats Smith Rowe imo

Smith-Rowe scored all but 3 of his league goals when starting, not as a sub. That said Pepe also only scored 3 of his league goals when coming off the bench.

I just don't understand how you can go from being worth £72m to not even having one club willing to fork out a dime for you??

West Ham, Leicester, Spurs, nobody wants to spend £30m on this guy??

Tbh I don't think Arteta has helped, he's basically resigned Pepe to the shadows meaning he isn't even in the shop window as a sub.

Been on the bench for too long.. clubs cant cage his current level of play anymore and not willing to spend the money and wages on a gamble. him going on loan might be good if he plays well then we might be able to get 30-40m... unlikely tho.

Indeed he did. Pepe was joint top scorer in the team in 20/21, and for that he was rewarded with 5 starts the season after. Even with Auba and Laca's dreadful form, even with a great Afcon, the best he got was 15-20 minutes.

West Ham and other clubs are buying players who are playing at least 25-30 games per season.

Well, for starters, he wasn't worth 72m. That's just what we paid. He was probably worth closer to 40m at the time.

He wasn't worth what we paid. The club reportedly conducted an internal investigation and there was talk of external auditors looking at it. Highly dubious.

Sun reports Leicester are interested in him.
Would be fine if a permanent deal can struck.
