Krystian Bielik - on loan at Charlton.

Third game. Played really well by all accounts. Ran the show and scored a late winner. Nearly got caught out a few times whilst trying to do too much with the ball (Wengered).

Charlton manager Lee Bowyer said,

“He's a very good player and that's why we wanted to bring him in. He's good at everything - he can play centre-half, he can play in the middle of the park and he's shown that. He's very good on the ball - but sometimes took too many touches but that's under-23s football. He thinks he can dribble from the back, go past four players and that's normal. It's not normal, not in mens football. He still has to learn but that's why he's with us because he's an exceptional player. You can see he's an exceptional player but he needs to learn and he will learn under us because we'll tell him the right things to do."

Loan Watch 2018-19

Certainly some encouraging words from Lee Bowyer. I had no idea he has become a manager.

Also nice to see he has already featured in 4 of Charlton's league games - let's hope he can retain his spot in the first XI.

Reckon this season will be make-or-break for KB with regards to his future at Arsenal.

From Krystian Bielik to Reiss Nelson - How Arsenal's loan stars are getting on around the world

David Ospina

It was a mixed start for the Arsenal goalkeeper in Naples, with one win and one defeat from his opening two games.

And the defeat was a big one, with Napoli falling to a shock 3-0 defeat at Sampdoria.

That meant Ospina had conceded five goals in his first two games following a 3-2 success against AC Milan on his debut and thus lost in place in the side against Fiorentina - a match in which Napoli won by a goal-to-nil.

However, things have improved. He returned to the team against Torino as Napoli won 3-1 as well as the loss against Juventus.

He did keep a second clean sheet in Napoli colours in the 1-0 win over Liverpool in the Champions League and followed that up with another shutout against Sassuolo.

Did concede twice as Napoli drew 2-2 with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and was an unused substitute in the 5-1 win over Empoli last time out.

Calum Chambers

Arsenal’s young defender has found himself out of the Fulham starting XI so far this season.

Chambers started the first two Premier League games for Slavisa Jokanovic’s side, but has had to make do with substitute appearances in each of the last two - although he did start in the Carabao Cup win against Exeter which was sandwiched in between.

Fulham lost the two league games the Chambers started, against Crystal Palace and Spurs, but beat Burnley 4-2 - when he came off the bench with 18 minutes remaining.

He was a late introduction in the 2-2 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion before the international break and was an unused substitute in the 3-0 loss away at Manchester City.

Chambers returned to the starting XI and played the full 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw against Watford. Wasn't in the squad as Fulham lost 3-0 away at Everton and was ineligible against his parent club before the international break and struggled in the defeat by Cardiff City last month.

Dropped completely for recent games against Bournemouth as well as Man City and will be hopeful of a recall against Huddersfield Town.

Takuma Asano

The Japanese international has started all but two of Hannover’s five games so far in the Bundesliga and also scored in a German Cup win.

Asano’s goal came in a 6-0 success over Karlsruhe, with the attacker scoring in the 51st minute.

Although the 23-year-old has started all three league games so far against Borussia Dortmund, Werder Bremen and RB Leipzig, he has been substituted in all - including at half-time against Dortmund.

He was an unused sub in Hannover's 2-0 loss against Nuremberg and came on for the final 25 minutes against Hoffenheim.

Didn't feature against Frankfurt, but played the final 14 minutes of the 3-1 win over former club Stuttgart before the October international break.

Matt Macey

It’s been a tough start to life at Plymouth for Macey, with the on-loan Arsenal keeper on the winning side just twice in the league.

Plymouth have 13 points from their opening 17 games and currently sit third bottom of League 1, having conceded 29 goals in the process.

Macey did keep a clean sheet as Argyle beat AFC Wimbledon 1-0 and was in goal for the 3-1 win over Gillingham as well as the 4-1 win over Scunthorpe.

Played the full 90 minutes at the weekend in the 2-0 loss at home to Sunderland.

Macey did taste victory in the Carabao Cup with a 1-0 win at Bristol City, but Plymouth have since gone out of the competition following a 3-2 defeat at Millwall.

Krystian Bielik

The giant Polish defender had a good start to life at Charlton and scored his first goal in a win at Southend just before the September international break.

Speaking after the game, Charlton boss Lee Bowyer stated, however, the 20-year-old still had much to learn.

"He thinks he can dribble from the back, go past four players and that's normal,” said Bowyer. “It's not normal, not in mens football. He still has to learn but that's why he's with us because he's an exceptional player.
"You can see he's an exceptional player but he needs to learn and he will learn under us because we'll tell him the right things to do."

Bielik has now made eight appearances for the Addicks since his loan move.

Kelechi Nwakali

Since sealing his move to Porto B, Nwakali has lost four of the five league games he has featured in so far.

Nwakali started the first two games, against Estoril and Ferense, but had to make do with a place on the bench during a 2-0 defeat at Penafiel - coming on for the final 22 minutes.

He did start against when Porto B clinched their first win of the season against Académico Viseu but didn't make the matchday squads against Oliveirense or Arouca.

Did get the final 16 minutes of the 4-2 loss away at Famalicao last month and that remains his most recent outing for Porto B.

The attacker has had some good news during his short stint in Portugal, however, as he has earned himself a call-up to the full Nigeria squad.

Reiss Nelson

Arsenal’s talented winger secured a move to Hoffenheim for the season just before the European transfer window shut on August 31 and has been handed the No.9 shirt.

On his first appearance for the Bundesliga outfit he scored the equaliser against Fortuna Düsseldorf - although it was only in vain as the hosts ran out 2-1 winners.

A few days later there was a Champions League debut for Nelson has he came off the bench against Shakhtar Donetsk for the final few minutes and he then earned his first Bundesliga start in a 3-1 win against Hannover.

Grabbed his second goal for Hoffenheim before the October international, but it wasn't enough to earn a point against Frankfurt.

Scored twice in a 3-1 win over Nurnberg and was on the scoresheet once again at the weekend as his stunning effort set Hoffenheim on their way to a 4-1 win at Bayer Leverkusen.

Very disappinted from Chambers. Looked like our best defenfer in preseason and now can't get into the Fulham team.
Abilities are not his problem. Mentality seems to be weak though. It's a pitty because he could be a very good player.

Took it well.

Played at centre half last night too. Has been usually playing in a defensive midfield role.

Great that he's getting games and in various positions.
