If theyre starting at 60, they can go to 75-80. Keep him for another year and then sell. He's obviously adjusted to Emery's setup so barring an injury he should have improved further over another 1.5 seasons.

He's not going anyplace. All this talk of Xhaka as captain? Nonsense, the kid shows the passion, the brains and the ability to lead at 19. Given him three years and the armband is his.

You've heard it about every young player that we've ever had that has shown progress.

If he ends up that good, he'll probably end up at another team. Hate to say it, but that's football.

Or the sophomore jinx kicks in and the progress comes to a halt for his second season. Happened with so many of our young players but hopefully the new regime can change that.

That's arsenal football. Other teams hold them even with very public displays of wanting to leave. How many times has de Gea been inches from Madrid? Bumper salary and he stays. United keep their stars on loser teams and we got into the culture of selling our prime players.

Right, we are pretty bad at that. But in general, when a player becomes world class, and the bigger teams than us start to show interest, there isn't much we can do to keep them. Utd benefit from being a bit bigger than us and more successful, so I'm sure that played a little part of De Gea staying. If he was with us, he would have been gone already for sure.

Bags of talent, but if PSG really did bid £60m for him i'd take it and strengthen with the money, we need to progress now, not in 5-8 years time.

Come on Cripps, he was run through. What was he supposed to do, outmuscle a bloke while he’s not even fully vertical?

Dwindled on the ball for too long and caught sleeping but besides that mistake, it was a positive performance from him.

Not hold on to the ball in that position for that long. It's his first instinct in most situations, but he needs to temper that a little and know when to play safe.

I'm not worried in the slightest however because hes 19 and this kind of mistake is exactly the sort a 19 year old CM makes. Its if he learns from that feeling of dread and annoyance in himself to let it happen that matters.

More importantly for me is that hes that young, but has the stones to shake it off and get straight back into the game, ending up with a positive performance overall.

Most kids would have buckled let alone some of the older top flight players that have found themselves in that position.

This kid is a real gem.

OK.

'the kid is tall, and a good core/physicals, he must be a DM'

The kid, is a play maker with a decent engine.

See that lovely ball he played over the top to Lacazette? Could have ended the game with an assist after that mistake.
