Orny has already squashed that rumor.

Kicker is also very reliable. Hard to know who's telling the truth from both imho

Just write him off IMO. At Hertha, he won't get anywhere near the minutes he needs to improve.

If you make it into the senior XI, Arsenal is one of the best clubs for young players to get experience. 9 months after leaving Ligue 2, he was playing in a European final . He got 2 seasons' worth of games here and didn't really improve defensively, or in keeping the ball, or contributing to the attack.

Yeah, he's 21. But a complacent attitude or discipline problems have held back the careers of players far more talented than him.

Santos & Helder started regularly.

Jensen was horrible.

Go have a great loan

Why do you dislike Arteta so much? Is it simply because you wanted Ancelotti?

One of our worst players ever becomes our manager. Needed to hit the ground running. Failed that. Pre lockdown was as bad as anything I've seen at this club in all my years following this once great club.

Won the cup, delighted. Thought we'd push on. Nope. It's just papering over the cracks. The lies he's told us, the bs he talks, the football we play.

I'm more surprised you don't hate him but I get the he's Arsenal manager so must be good stance you take. You've done it with players over the years and now with a manager.

Arteta was not world class, but one of the worst ever? exaggeration i'm guessing when we have had players like John Jensen, Glenn Helder, Kaba Diawara, Andre Santos, Igor Stepanovs etc?

Really? You're going to cite players like Jensen, Diawara etc al to defend Arteta as a player. He was a panic buy and offered little to nothing but sideways passes and occasional panelty kicks. Arteta may have the genes to become a great manager one day but he was a terrible player who had no business starting as many games as he did for a club like Arsenal.

I didn't rate Arteta as an Arsenal player at all, 5 out of 10 player, the epitome of mediocre. But to say he was one of the worst ever Arsenal players goes way too far, he doesn't even come close.

Got to agree that Arteta as a player was average at best, not one of the worst ever perhaps, but totally forgettable.

It personally I think that’s one of the reasons I wasn’t keen on being manager, I was never a fan when he was with us and he epitomised a time of mediocrity under Wenger, hopefully he can prove he’s a decent manager however.

I can't really see the point in discussing Arteta's playing career. Does it matter if he was a great Arsenal player?

Would anyone have been happy with it were Henry as manager? I doubt it.

I think he was just a panic buy cos we had not long lost Fabregas and was short in midfield
