Would be a huge mistake. All kids need time to learn and grow up, should be aiming to mould him into a proper player not just bin him cos he has a laugh in training.

If we get a big money offer I'm not opposed to him leaving. He's average defensively, and hasn't shown much beyond potential.

That said selling both him and Torreira would be a mistake. One or the other IMO

Should get two good midfielders and send Douzi on loan.

Arteta sending out a message - that he can't handle big characters - even if they are only up and coming prospects.

Also we need Partey in addition to what we have, so if guen is swapped for partey then we still need another CM unless people are warming to Xhaka (who I have always rated and stuck up for).

He is terrible of the ball and physically the weakest player in the league. Any 50/50 he falls down. Truth is he hasnt progressed last 2 years as a player and if his attitude isnt right, time to get rid

What is he CM, DM, B2B? Doesn’t seem to have a clear role.

He's a promising, high-energy regista who has a lot of work to do on his positional sense and speed of execution.

No he’s not. To be a regista or playmaker you have to have an outstanding passing range. He does not have that. At best he’s a ball winner. If he were a regista we wouldn’t need Xhaka.

Which is why Arteta doesn't start them together.

He has a great passing range for a player of his age. It's his anticipation and positional sense that lets him down.

Never in a million years a natural ball winner, though it's something he can further improve on.

Nah, there is nothing great about him for his age, he is 19 remember. I think we like him because he has promise and could be that swashbuckling box to box midfielder we have lacked for so many years. I like him, he has big areas he needs to improve in but I cannot agree that his range of passing is great, for me it is average at best. He can and should be able to improve it. To be honest, if he could improve his immediate awareness he would improve by 2 points out of 10 - such would be the level he would go to !

He only has 2 years left on his contract. So we actually do need to make a decision this summer. Sell him or offer a new contract.

Guendo wants to go and we're willing to sell:

https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Article/Transferts-matteo-guendouzi-vers-un-depart-d-arsenal/1146855

Transfers: Mattéo Guendouzi to an Arsenal departure

Little used by his trainer Mikel Arteta, the young midfielder (21 years old) expressed his wish to leave Arsenal. The London club gave him a release.

Works for me. Raul needs to be held to his policy of selling or re-upping when the contract comes down to the last 2 years. I don't see this guy becoming the sort of player we need him to be at Arsenal. Happy to have some other club take the punt.

As long as he's replaced. We have so many holes to fill, this would just create another.
