Cantona was banned for a month in 1989

At Montpellier after a fight with a teammate
He was banned from the ground for 10 days

You’re comparing this with showing up ten mins late? How would Arteta have managed Adams? How would he have dealt with Vieira's shenanigans? Let the great ones be. Be a manager instead of a bloody nanny.

It will show he cares more about his own ego than the success of the club.

Do you really think Arteta makes decisions purely to boost his ego, and not because he thinks it's right for the club? Even if you disagree with his decisions, you can't accept that it's just what he sees as the best thing for Arsenal?

Guendouzi has long had a reputation as a bit of a troublemaker and his time at Hertha has done nothing to disspell that.

We went through this with Wenger, Wenger loved the club but in his latter years a lot of his decisions were not beneficial to the club and were due to his ego, his desire to prove everyone wrong. If Wenger can be like that why do you think Arteta can't be too ?

Someone doing what they think is best for Arsenal but actually, it not being best for Arsenal, doesn't make it ok or acceptable and it certainly doesn't cushion the blow.

No
Just putting it out there that players have been sanctioned before regardless of how talented they are.
I believe the manager should have autonomy to enforce discipline exactly as he feels appropriate
If he believes that enforcement of this rule regarding lateness is of greater benefit to the squad as a whole then it’s his decision as these things must be.
I’m sure there are plenty of things that go on day to day at the club like they do in any work place that never reach boiling point
Maybe this one did and it was time to deal with it

Acting stupid and being stupid are not the same thing. Even from afar it would appear that Guendouzi can see something in an element of the team as it was now having been shipped out and replaced by the likes of Gabriel, Tierney, ESR, Pepe, Odegaard, Partey, Martinelli and Saka, mostly players relative to his age group and him fancying a bit of that.

He’ll only have a year left in the summer, unless we got him to sign a contract he’d walk away for free, on that basis we should sell him to recoup some money.

When asked if he would play again for Arteta he gave the answer that he wants to play for Arsenal. When asked again if he has resolved the issue with Arteta he again said that if asked he would give everything for Arsenal.

He obviously still has the attitude. Get rid.

The camp seems quite settled at the moment.

I kind of feel that we’ve already moved on tbh.

Not sure why anyone thinks the camp wouldn't be settled with Guendouzi back in it. He grafts hard on the pitch, nobody can ever accuse him of shirking. He was our best CM in 2018/19, played the entire season thrown in at the deep end and didn't complain.
