Guendouzi is a good player IMO.
Has the odd lapse but he's still young.
I go back to the fact he was rated as one of the top 20 young players in Europe not so long ago.
We need to get him back on track.

Guendouzi is problematic for centrist clubs like ours that can happily do without passionate youngsters

This is a difficult one. I'd rather we just spent money on a quality player and not have to worry about developing him further whilst taking on the extra baggage. I can't see him coming back and accepting a rotation role without kicking up a fuss.

Arsenal's French midfielder Matteo Guendouzi, who spent last season on loan at Hertha Berlin, has agreed personal terms with Marseille, who are now discussing a fee for the 22-year-old with the Gunners. (Fabrizio Romano via Sun)

On one hand I'm glad Arteta is getting rid of players who aren't buying into the manager ..............

But on the other hand, if so many players aren't buying into the manager then the question has to be, what is it about Arteta these players are not buying into?

I can think of a good few reasons.

For me Arteta has this season with his new players, if he's not made some serious progress by January then he needs to disappear.

He probably will, back into the transfer market so he can buy himself a bunch of new players, apparently you can’t make progress without an entirely new squad.

The clown should have swallowed his pride and brought the youngster back.

The problem with that is, it might make guendouzi think he 'won' and just gives him more ammunition to continue acting like an self-entitled d***head.

Think I agree with arteta as Matteo has had similar issues with previous clubs that are well mentioned.

He seemed to do alright with Emery but unai comes across as a bit of a coward that bends his way to the players like he did at psg, hence no control and players deciding to do things their way.

But didn't you know that only the second half of the season counts?

What's the point of loaning him then?

Just sell now

I think its loan with compulory purchase for 10m at the end. Maybe they can't afford him now?
