Exactly the type of player we needed.
Works hard, makes life difficult of midfielders and most importantly positions himself well when we don't have the ball - hence lots of passes cut out.

It's amazing it took us so long to sign such a player - it's a plus point for Emery that he spotted this so early and signed Torreira.

How long has it been since we had a proper CDM who know's to screen the back four? know's his role?

There is a litany of things I will never forgive our previous manager for, this is one of them.

There are levels to this thing.

Tbf I didn't mind Coquelin, but Wenger only used him because he was one of his old projects who was available back from his loan spell and we had a vacancy, he never went out to seek a DM.

Flamini old player available on a free, Coquelin was on our books .......... Wenger hadn't bought a new CDM since??

He was beastly vs Leicester. All the other players stole the show, but this guy snuffed out so many attacks it was unreal.

Gilberto 2.0 .

Completely different games, physiques and styles but exactly the same impact on the team.

We've bagged ourselves a proper player

Bargain.

Misinslat's robbed a bank and got away with it with this signing, absolute robbery.

Love the way all his passes are ALWAYS in front of the guy he's passing to...making it so they can run onto the ball and build up the momentum of the move. Couple of times it's almost caught us out because Mustafi/Bellerin are asleep but that's their problem not his.

Such a simple thing but he's the player we've needed for ages, perfect combo of a Santi replacement with a bit more steel and defensive mindset. If only we could get someone better next to him.
