Great buy for ANY team - Mahrez !!! But like I said, if we can get the players we have playing like a team with a bit of defensive discipline, we should be able to compete, we dfon't need big names to be competitive. It can help, sure, but its not the be all and end all.

Five players brought in pretty swiftly and in all those areas we lacked. There is definitely a sense of urgency unlike the lackadaisical approach we have seen from us in the past. When you bring in new recruits early, you can hone them and help them adapt to the new club, new league and new team. It's like the club has finally gotten out of slumber after a decade of deep sleep.

Don't care who is responsible for this new found urgency , be it Emery, Gazidis. Mislintat, Sanllehi as long as the club keep up this approach. So many of our players were sleep walking with a sense of complacency so the next step should be to get them out of their comfort zone and made to earn their spot in the playing eleven.

I'm confident he's going to be great. No language barrier hopefully with Bellerin and Monreal in the first XI.

As with all Arsenal signings, I'm just worried about injuries. Debuchy was looking good for us before one single injury wrecked him for 2 years.

This is a good summary of the player he is and the role in which he operated in under the very strict Giampaolo.

Just hope most people will understand his profile and won't come up with goals and assists to lambast him for no reason.

There's a lot to like about Lucas Torreira. He's good at reading the game, intercepting passes and positioning. His passing range is also quite decent although he's often content to play a safe and short passes. We haven't had a player of his style and calibre in what seems like an eternity.

The only downside I can think of is his size but I doubt it will hinder him. After all, Torreira seems to ooze garra charrúa, the unique Uruguayan trait of perseverance at the face of adversity, which will help him take to English football.

Torreira isn't N'Golo Kante, and I doubt he will ever be. Nevertheless, he can make an impact for us.

Only time will tell. At least Emery has recruited a proper DM which Wenger refused to do in seven years.
