Not surprised if he wants to go back to Italy. There were rumours of this last summer despite a promising start, and he has been invisible this season. I wouldn't be surprised if the club brass would prefer to cash in now and replace him with a cheaper option.

Of course Italian clubs outside the big 3 are allergic to spending money so we'll probably do a cash + player deal.

I would have to question Arteta if he did that!! If Torreira wants to leave though, not much Arteta can do about that.

Swap him for their best CB, CM and CF.

I remember telling people on here that Torreira wasn’t good enough. But they bit my head off. Dude needs to go back to Italy

he looked the part there for a while...

defo looks a beat late to everything these days... cos of the injury? hard to say... but, not cutting it of late, that's true.

like his desire... but if he's always a click behind... it's no use...

Torreira is Too physically and technically limited for this league. Reminds me of a weaker Coquelin. His passing range is incredibly limited to simple and backwards passing and he has lacks recovery pace and power due to his tiny frame.

His strength is cutting out passing lanes, but he's regressed since he got here.
Might be confidence, maybe the injury.
Needs a decent off season and to come back to his early level next year.

What on earth are you talking about? He looked every bit the part in his first season, a brilliant DM but seemed to run out of steam in games, understandable when you have Xhaka as a partner and indiscipline all around you.

Then that turd brain Emery tried to play him offensively and since then his confidence seems to be shot. Play him in his preferred role with this new look Arteta team and he will return to form.

The torreira-xhaka partnership was key to that unbeaten run under emery. Worked well against liverpool too.
