Had forgotten about him, another one we’ve failed to shift.

Has been dealt a bad card, think he’s been poorly utilised and then not utilised at all.

His days are done anyway, trouble is this club can’t shift him, just like they don’t seem to be able to shift anyone.

Average player who never wanted to leave Italy in the first place.

Yeah never impressed by him and he never settled here.

I'd already forgotten about him to be honest.

Top player who showed what he can do in the first season and was derailed by Emery's stupidity in the second season.

Emery had him playing as the 10! Absolutely nuts.

Torreira wouldn't work alongside Xhaka or Elneny but I think alongside Partey or Lokonga, there could be a better balance. Shame we won't see it.

He is the least talked about loan player we have, and he just won a title with Atletico. Why is that? Because no one's really expecting him to make an impact if he came back.

Emery still used him from what I recall. He sent Elneny on loan and kept Torreira. After Arteta arrived he reversed that setup.

His natural role would compliment Partey perfectly, Partey would be released to play his natural game. Anyone that plays alongside Xhaka is compromised because they will always have to cover for his mistakes.

Upon a new incumbent being appointed, especially if it was Antonio Conte who would be familiar with what our diminutive midfielder brings to the party, is it a feasibility that Lucas would then perform a 180?

In that I am genuinely unaware of a gunner who hasn't seen the equally dire need of our engine room to reinstall a creative attacking player along with a defensive kingpin which was widely expected to have been Yves Bissouma, would it still be deemed a stroke of genius to actually play a player schooled to distinction in the role and we already own?

Please excuse my laziness in not bothering to address on their own threads but bundled together on this one, but pretty much the same applies to both the young Frenchmen exiled to Marseille like modern day Napoleons.

The guy couldn't get along in England and wanted to return to Italy or Spain.

Good luck to him.

I'd rather keep him and play him over that clown.

As usual we do the illogical thing though and keep Xhaka + want to sell Torreira.

Me too.

Not the age old loan again, come the end of it they don’t buy and we’re back to square one.

Why does this club seem almost incapable of selling players these days, almost everything seems to involve a loan!
