We've missed his presence in midfield so badly.

Comparing him to Elneny is like chalk and cheese.

Superb performance tonight. My MotM.

Looking forward to seeing the midfield clash between Torreira and Coquelan, who you know is going to be well up for it with a point to prove.

Corners and free kicks might be interesting too if we get Sokratis picking up Gabriel Paulista and vice versa.

With this in mind it might be good practice to notify the country's seismologists, so they don't suddenly get into a bit of a flap when needles start registering activity in North London.

With any luck we might also be able sneak Mustafi back onto their coach and convince the driver that they had brought him with them in the luggage hold.

His height, especially for a DM, means that he's the type of player that would easily be a victim of a bad formation and supporting players. It's his relentless nature and never-say-die attitude that gets him by, imo, but his physique does place a limit on what he can offer. He is one of a few of our players who is suffering from playing with poor players.

A 4-3-3 full of quality players would benefit him
Ramsdale
(Turner/Hein)
White Saliba Gabriel Zinchenko
(Tomiyasu/Niles) (Timber/Holding) (Trusty/Kiwior) (Tierney/Tavares)
Odegaard(c) —- Rice
(Xhaka/Lokonga) —- (Partey/Elneny)
Havertz
(Jorginho/Vieira)
Saka Jesus Martinelli
(Pepe/Nelson) (Nketiah/Balogun) (Trossard/ESR)

Not big or fast enough for a midfield two.

Sell to a Spanish club for £40m and we can reinvest.

Whats exactly so quality about him?

Hes got energy and is decent in keeping the ball rolling. What else?

He isnt that good in winning the ball as ive hoped, is weak and short and brings absolutely nothing offensively.

He does exactly what a DM should do, only gripe is that he sometimes gets caught ahead of the ball when we’re trying to get back into the game. No coincidence he’s looked worse when we’ve been chasing games because he deviates from what he’s supposed to do and from what he’s good at. Like Kante, he’s not meant to be playing on the edge of the opposition box.

His intercepting is good, his fight and energy are great and his natural technique is above that of all our other central midfielders. I agree he’s definitely lost a bit of form and his tackling has dropped off but I think it’s due to being in and out of the team and our general form, got faith that next season he’ll be on top form again and looking good.

Can't believe he's getting stick today. Koscielny cost us two of the three goals, AMN sending off was unlucky and our forwards created nothing. Plenty to criticise after today but not Torreira (or Xhaka for that matter). The game wasn't lost in the centre of midfield! Our wingers and strikers created nothing, our defence were awful.
