But there is one. The two good matches from the youngsters have lifted spirits but our first team hasn't delivered a single convincing league performance. I'm hoping the introduction of Bellerin/Holding/Tierney changes that but if it doesn't things are definitely not looking good.
Emery has benefitted from the United/Tottenham meltdowns but Chelsea are playing good football and even Leicester is flirting with Top 4 and they have better GD.

You proclaimed Torreria was given license to be the most offensive of the 3 CMs, presumably by Emery. I said thats rubbish because he is not the best offensively out of the 3 CM so why would Emery make that decision unless he was a complete jackass, which I presume he is not. So if you are sticking to your argument then I have to laugh.
This is so easy. IS IT REALLY ???? Take your beating !
Out of the three. Guendouzi, Xhaka and Torreria
- Who is the fastest? Torreria
Ummmm .... not according to leaked speed results of the Arsenal First Team.
https://talksport.com/football/414831/arsenals-first-team-players-ranked-pace-pierre-emerick-aubameyang-official-speed-test-results/
Torreira is the SLOWEST of the 3. Not only that his Vmax is achieved while running at 100% capacity while the other 2 reached their faster than Torreira's Vmax running at less than 100% full speed. That alone is a can of ass whooping for you. But I will humiliate you further.
- Who has scored the most goals recently or even going on last season? Torreria
Torreira - 3 goals, 5 assists (since season 18/19)
Xhaka - 4 goals, 5 assists (since season 18/19)
Guendouzi - 1 goal, 2 assists (since season 18/19) Source of stats transfermkt.com
Oh look, Elkanofan is WRONG AGAIN !!!
- Who has the best stamina and agility to motor up and down the pitch? Very easy answer. Torreria.
This one is subjective but I am pretty sure that no other person would agree with you that Torreiria has more stamina than Guendouzi who clearly is a box to box midfielder, than Torreira that is a defensive midfielder. I can't find anything conclusive to back my argument - if someone else can find distance covered stats that might help. I found one stat for Uruguay that showed Torreira had run 10.2km and a stat for Guendouzi where he had run 11.2km vs Chelsea. Having played footie too a decent standard (semi-pro) and having played both roles, I know for a fact a box to box midfielder runs further than a DM, thats just common sense. Only wing backs fun further than B2B mids.
Hence why Emery gave him that role. Why, because he is a bloody idiot or perhaps - he was not given any such role at all and its just a figment of your imagination.
None of the three are attack minded, that's exactly why all three where picked to keep things tight, not play naively and leave easy spaces to be exploited like vs Watford. Guendouzi is the most attack minded of the 3. It is he that looks to play the ball forward as his first intention and it is he that supports the strikers more on attack than either Xhaka or Torreira. Here is analysis on Guendouzi:
https://footballbh.net/2019/09/13/matteo-guendouzi-2019-20-scout-report-tactical-analysis-tactics/
Its funny because if you knew tactics and if your knew or players strengths a little more you would know Torreria has everything to be a top center mid and play box to box just with a primary defensive mindset and an engine to support the attack. He did this really well next to Ramsey last year when we played 343, then Ramsey got injured vs Napoli which was one injury too far and the team died. LOOOOOL. Please see above comment. While Torreira does not get a nose bleed when he goes forward it is not a part of his natural game. Do not make exceptions the norm. More analysis on Torreira's game:

But he is good enough offensively to run the show - offensively, so why not let him start, even if you get 60 mins he will have run the Man U midfielders ragged and we can bring on someone to take his place, thats the entire point of having substitutes. Not starting him and asking a specialist DM to supplement the creativity in the team is lunacy.
Simple. Because his defensive deficiencies are a bigger issue to the balance of the team than what he could do on the ball in attack. This showed in the second half when he can on. He was great on the ball but i was shitting myself with how weak we were defensively when he came on. United would have scored at least 2-3 goals if he started. All United's good chances came in the second half and many where created down the side Ceballos was stationed in midfield. Man U have scored 9 goals all season !! Only 7 teams in the league have scored less than them. They top the charts of big chances missed. I think, therefore, it is safe to say that Man U would NOT have scored 2-3 goals if Ceballos had started !
Ceballos was wonderful today vs Liege, but its Liege, a good Championship level team, not Man United at Old Trafford!theHotHead wrote: Regarding Ceballos tackling back, you play players like Ozil and Ceballos and do not focus on their defensive game. They are offensive players and a manager with half a brain cell will ensure the team around them are able to cover the defensive duties. but when the manager makes stupid decisions as Emery has been you see the team struggle so badly defensively. We are worse now than we have EVER been defensively, since I have watched Arsenal. Emery is a defensive clown. He can't get the team to defend and he can't get the best out of his offensive players. This is a failure of epic proportions.
This one is simple. Emery gave Ozil a very suitable 442 diamond formation and gave him his favourite position and provided Ceballos behind him si we could keep possession and dominate the ball vs watford. Just like he did at his peak period with Arsenal with Santi behind him.
Ozil failed miserably and was by far the worst player in the pitch. He's a shit player now and your naive defence of him is why you have no point whatsoever here, your just shouting, you need to get real and watch the Watford game again and see the truth to how poor a player Ozil is now. Ozil is still a better creative/offensive midfielder than Torreira could EVER be. I suggest you stop taking the drugs if you believe otherwise.
We don't know for sure what's happening behind the scenes but I'm happy Ozil will soon leave in January. We need his wages taken off our books so we can buy a real attacking midfielder to work and dual with Ceballos.theHotHead wrote: Mate, you keep harping on about having knowledge of the game and everyone bar YOU can see that you have no knowledge at all, telling everyone you have knowledge doesn't mean it is so. Not looking at the stats but what distance is it over ? Laca has good power on the turn he may have explosive speed over a shorter distance ? But I would have thought lacka was quicker than sokratis as well
