Makes no sense.

How would a formation needing three CBs be better in such a situation?

So you're saying that buying another CB because 4/5 of our CBs are currently on vacation in boo boo land doesn't make sense? That's some Wenger-esque logic.

And I didn't say formations with 3 atb made sense. I thought it was clear that I meant it's good to bring in reinforcements instead of having to go the fit square pegs in round holes route.

Buy a centre back

Kos is probably done anyway

We'll have one too many between Jan and June but whatever, I'd rather fix the problem early than late

Yup. We also may be able to get a better center back in the summer, but that's not gonna help us this season while we're still in plenty of competitions.

Arsenal needed a change and we got it.

Emery brought a fight and commitment to the team. Every match guys fight until the last minute, and everything looks much more disciplined than Wenger's. I like the most that he immediately changes the player if he plays bad and nobody is protected from it. I think that Arsenal will be five times better when Emery performs 3-4 transfer periods and brings players that he likes. First of all we need a stopper and one wing.

He’s losing the plot, why play 5 at the back when you have so many defenders out? And why play laca against qarabag if it’s going to affect today?

Wenger would’ve never prioritised a shit group game over this, the one benefit I can give him against unai this week. Let’s not start a wenger debate I’m just saying it was a stupid move.

Also we lost 2 more defenders now because this ref was an absolute thunderc***

I can kinda see why he went three at the back, given he had only 1 half-fit centre back available. Tactically, it makes sense, that if you're weak there, you add numbers to compensate.

Turns out the guy who usually plays in midfield had the better game in defence than the defence.

That is how bad we are at the back.

The only change that's needed is for Emery to look at his starting line up, then look at the bench, and work out why the bench is stronger than half our first 11.

We have Laca, Ramsey and Ozil on the bench, Laca I get it because we need to buy a 3rd striker before we can start Laca and Auba together again as we only have 2 strikers for 3 comps but the one of Ramsey or Ozil should be starting.

Iwobi is not first 11 material and we shouldn't have Xhaka in defence ffs.

I don’t think it does make sense tactically. If you’re short on centre halves you shouldn’t just throw more men in their for the sake of it. We’re so top heavy in terms of talent we should’ve started with a 4231 and tried to push them back and make their only chance the counter

I’d have had more faith of outgunning them than expecting us to put a decent defensive performance. Players in unrecognised positions is always a huge problem, especially at the back

Not sure what was good about Xhaka’s game but alright, few decent long spray balls otherwise thought he sucked but let him off playing out ofnposition
