Comfortable top four hopefully, and with luck, a tilt at the Europa League. What do you think the aim should be next season?

and if UNACCEPTABLE, what is your proposed action?

I mean look at what Liverpool has done...when was the last time our club bought like that?

Pool have 2 factors in their favour:

Klopp has gotten them an EL and CL final within 2 seasons of taking the job, and has a record of making excellent buys, Karius being a notable outlier.

They also made a ton of money on their recent transfers. Coutinho sold for almost as much as Mbappe.

Kinda shows that Arsenal are a mess...people say we have a good business but thats not actually true as we have never really sold anyone for a lot of money.

For all the business sense that the damn Kroenke's have Arsenal is in fact failing as a business...if we don't make top 4 next season and compete for the EL trophy at the minimum the Kroenke's have to go....just dont wan't a conniving businessman like Dangote as an owner though that guy is even worse than Trump....f***er wants to buy Arsenal as a "reward" for himself.

He gets one seasons grace from me to find his feet and get organised

The following season I demand top four

By season 3 / 4 I expect serious title challenges

The manager changes, my expectations do not

Stay in the contender group, no more than 6 points behind the 1st.

Win EL, FAC or LC.

Any one will do.

Thought I'd resurrect this thread six months on so we can look back on our expectations. I think generally we are mostly where we thought/hoped we'd be, but the EL is our big test now!

Im pretty happy with how things are going this season tbh. Top 4 is realistic and ive enjoyed our matches far more than i have in the last years.

We'll be 5th or 6th. Other teams will improve this summer, we won't cause top players ain't coming here to play for Emery.

So not really expecting much

I was super excited in the beginning, the way we were difficult to beat, not because defensively we were anything great but we managed to not lose games which is a trait all successful teams must have. Some of our football was dire, the odd time we looked like class.

Now we seem to be more dire than the first half of the season and I see no change in that imminently. Ultimately I would have said staying 4th place would be above expectations, I expected more turbulence than we actually have had. Just tinged with disappointment because Emery has shown us that the squad should be performing better, my expectations are higher.

Happy with where we are, considering some of the players he has had to work with.

Nobody would have expected us to be in the top four in February.

I think top 6 is a good season in the transition year.
I have seen an improvement in our team play, though we are still prone to endless passages of pointless Wengerball. That will take time to wash away from the style of play and new players.
In terms of signings i am impressed so far. Torreira, Guenduzi, Sokratis look like good players. Leno has some potential I think. Suarez. the latest loan, is a good option.
We won't get better than 5th or 6th until we get a world class striker and our defence goes back to basics and forgets everything Wenger ever trained them to do.

Top 5 is acceptable, top 4 or CL spot is a highly successful first season considering transition, lack of investment and where we were last season.

6th place will feel a bit meh, but how can I string Emery up for duplicating what Wenger managed after 20 years of controlling and choosing this squad.

I'm looking forward to summer window because the one thing Emery / Sven is good at is truly identifying where we're short or need improving and with some actual money it'll be good to see who AFC tries to buy.

Next season will be where I measure what AFC is doing, when we've moved on more of Wenger's players.
