It actually doesn't matter who ....... what matters is for the first time in 10 years the manager will be held accountable, that's the revolution here.

Does it matter who for how well we'll do, sure, but me its the above that's the real exciting bit.

Wenger, i believe, was still held accountable to an extent. i think CL qualification was what kept Wenger going in the eyes of the board and Not qualifying for the first time was the final straw that broke the camels back for certain members upstairs. I strongly believe that season was when planning for life after Wenger truly began and were we still in the CL then and now, Wenger would still be the manager right now. I do not expect the boards ambition to change anytime soon with the new man coming in. That is, as long as the new man can guarantee CL football every season and win no trophies, then his job is safe as far as the board are concerned. And this, imo, will continue to be the case until something drastic causes the board to change their way of thinking

A good manager, a bit of luck with who drops out of the Champions League, and we should win the Europa League next season.

EL would have been a massive success this season and a homage to Wenger.

If you're telling me that we're getting rid of our most legendary manager to win the EL, we are in all sorts of trouble.

It's a new start. It's all about the Premier League now.

I don't think we can win the league in one season. I'm expecting top four minimum and maximum, nothing more.

A cup alongside top four would be nice

We've finished in the top-4 for 20 years. It's not an accomplishment.

We're 12 points off 4th and 37 points off the title.

I don't see why top four wouldn't be acceptable, given the circumstances. The title is likely beyond us in just one season, yes, I'd expect to challenge in two years, but no way are we near the top next season.

Liverpool will strengthen, Chelsea will too with a new manager.

I don't think it makes a difference who the manager is. New manager = fresh ideas and changes, lets see what the new manager can do with this same players and some new additions. I think Wenger is the main reason we have regressed so much so a fresh approach is exciting to me.

New manager, same shit owner. Let’s see what changes. Maybe Kroenke will develop a love for football and throw some Walmart cheese our way. Who knows, anything could happen now that Wenger is gone.

This summer is sure to see a lot of change at the club, and not just at management/coaching level, but with playing staff too.

A lot of key players are either retiring (Mertesacker), out long-term injured and/or severely ageing (Koscielny, Monreal, Cech), and especially with a new manager coming in we're going to see a big shake up.

Not excited yet, just nervous. Lets see who the manager is and what players leave, and what players come in.

Yes - but the owner does not take the coaching sessions and he doesn't pick the tactics.

So the manager has more bearing on what happens on the pitch come match day.

above- i think mentioning top 4 is only by way of making up some ground we've lost, not a genuine "goal" ..more of a measure, maybe?

Wish the board would f**k off as well, gonna give Mikel a chance but rather he came in later after we've curbed the fall.
