You do realise that 'one of the first' means nothing right?

Only first means anything otherwise the rest are all repeating the same drivel

I'm just sick of all this knee jerking based on rumours.

Ffs we spent the whole of last week crying about Arteta which it turns out was never happening...

I disagree, I think its all about the PL. We need to find some steel, some season long consistency and get back in the top four as a minimum. The EL is a sideshow, we can use as a back up.

Just wondering if this thread should probably close now and we'll all move over to the Dick Emery thread?

Finish top 4, we get CL

Win Europa, we get a trophy and CL

Trophy over top 4 all the time

Of course, that goes without saying, but Arsenal have drifted badly in recent years and a Trophy would only be a like sticking a plaster over the wound! We need to get back in the top 4 next year and try and win the EL too.....BUT the PL must be the main focus, as it is a long climb back to the top and its almost certainly going to take small steps to get there. From 4th or 3rd, we can can aim higher the following year.....whereas from 6th, it will be the same old shitfest!

This. What the hell am I reading !!! He managed Sevilla FFS, to consecutive EL titles, Sevilla, who in their history have only won 1 La Liga title. They are the 6th most successful club in Spanish football.

Everton are the 6th most successful club in England.

Lol @ 3 EL's

Can only play who's in front of you :dontknow:

If we were in the EL with that fixture list, we'd have a treble of Europa Leagues. Would you seriously rate Wenger based on that?

We faced tougher teams to get to the semi than that list.

We lost to a bunch of no name Swedes too .... !

Still won the tie. As an achievement, I really don't rate it. Still, he's supposed to be tactically astute and makes players analyse their mistakes, so this will be fun.

We know what half of our players will be mostly doing between games then.

keep it open until it's official.
Jonathan Pearce - "Regarding any new transfers you are not going to give me a clue are you?"
Arsene Wenger - "I cannot give you what i don't have"

Sorry if someone has said this but i want to congratulate the people who got the board intentions right.

I think the board had a list of targets Emery included, tried to get Allegri or Enrique but they wanted more control and didn't like the setup, so their other top target was Emery but needed to monitor the situation as to when he was released by PSG.

As soon as Tuchel was announced, they used Arteta and other stories as a smokescreen to get their man. Somebody called this and all the horse manure rumors where a smokescreen and this seems like what happened.
