Mate its a brilliant run and goal, he has been making those runs for us all the time, he ghosts past midfield and the CBs see him when it is too late.

Look where he started his run from !! Brilliant play by Havertz, conversely its also our downfall, because when you want your CF further forward to get on the end of something he can't be making runs from deep in his own half.

Those runs from deep were Henry's speciality, or in his case it was often from wide and he cut in to similar spaces.

CB's find that a nightmare because you can't mark attackers who are so deep otherwise you're out of position.

I wasn’t commenting on his run. The CB misjudged a simple arial ball, got turned by Saka who then went on to turn a second defender before passing to a rushing Havertz. I simply cannot recall and era when premier league defending was this bad.

Maybe all this confusion with the offside rule is something to do with it. When you train as a unit, this first and second phase and not interfering and then is interfering might throw you off.

The offside rule right now is anything but sensible.

Dunk is not a rock, but he made their goal, didn't he? The era has changed. Defenders have more attacking prowess, but not as solid as before.

it was a well-taken goal. Havertz is an oddball as a player though.

I don't care how strange he is as long as he scores goals. :dizzy:

Honestly, I think he has been brilliant since Feb 2024.

We should've brought in backup/alternative for him though, we would be setup perfectly for the season.

because he has no discernable strengths. and he's only proven he can hold his own as a squad player.

I'll take the on and off 3 G+A in his first 3 games.
Unlucky not to have another assist yesterday too and his all round play remains key to the team.
