But can we attract a top midfielder? Who would like to join Arsenal now?

Would be a decent midfield tbh.

With a front three of Pepe - Auba/Laca - GM7/Auba.

Regardless, we didn't have a DLP when we were bossing games before.

    Vieira - Petit
    Gilberto - Vieira
    Cesc - Gilberto
    Cesc - Flamini
    Diaby/Rosicky - Cesc - Denilson/Song
    Wilshere - Cesc - Song
    Arteta - Cazorla - Song
    Arteta - Rosicky - Song
    Arteta - Ozil - Ramsey
    Arteta - Ozil - Wilshere
    Coquelin - Ozil - Cazorla
    Xhaka - Ozil - Ramsey
    Xhaka - Ramsey - Wilshere

We have looked better with Xhaka this season, but we also have only "excelled" with Xhaka when we've played the 3-4-3.

So yeah.
Not convinced with that midfield

Before we got linked to partey, none ever heard of him
Saka belongs out wide. Crazy to stick him in the middle, regardless of his talent
Ceballos had 2 or max 3 good games for us. Needs to go home (hint, thats not us)

I've not been a fan of Ceballos ever since he joined us, but since the restart he has been very good
Starting to look every bit of the player we saw against Burnley back in August.

Now pls don't have a shocker against Spurs pls

Doubt if he's dependable for an entire season, even if he stays. Nowadays players have 2-3 good games and then lapses into mediocrity. Most don't have the intensity.

Ceballos is arguably our best passer (apart from Oz obvs) and our best midfielder. Doesn't speak much for him as we have a tepid midfield but he's class.

As for Partey, I don't rate him as highly as others. Accto most Atleti fans, he's been their best midfielder this season.

He's definitely an upgrade over Xhaka as a DM. I feel Arteta will go for Partey - Xhaka - Ceballos next season. We'll see (depending on if we sign Partey and/or Dani).

Partey had looked dominant every time I have watched Athletico play.

If we get rid of Guendouzi then we I think we should extend Dani's loan.

He's the best Midfielder we have ball to feet and unless we're buying another CM then we need the ones we have.

Moving to a two man midfield has helped alleviate the pressure on needing CM's but if Dani goes and we don't buy we only have Xhaka, Torreria and Guendouzi, none of them are good in the final third as ball carriers with end product.

So basically buy another CM or keep Dani, he's tidy on the ball and his end product is developing so I don't mind the guy.

He's quite promising, but I doubt we can get him cheaply from Real. Might cost 30M or more.

Bargain for £20m even £23m is decent.

Even if we bought a better starting CM, Dani is more than good enough to play back up and lower level games.

£20m - £25m would be good for Ceballos. He's really pushed on after the break and I can't help but like how pumped he gets when we score.

We're not going to get much more at the price and if we're going to offload Guendouzi for similar money it would make sense.

As long as we don't offer him stupid wages to 'convince him' to sign permanently or agree to a stupid buy back clause.

Still feel we would need an attack minded midfield that can play a final ball :hiding:

Senior Midfielders:
Ceballos
Partey
Xhaka
Torreira

Youth Midfielders :
Willock
Smith-Rowe
Smith
Azeez
