It's a gap that needs to be filled just for us to stand still ... that's the main weakness with loans and older players when they go they leave a big hole and no cash to fill it.

We haven’t really, he was injured a lot and now after doing well towards the end of the season, there’s no option to buy and Real look like they want to keep him so we can’t loan him again.

Just not really a fan of the loan system, it’s really designed for smaller clubs to get players in for nothing and for the loaning club to give their young players experience and a chance to improve, at the end of the loan of they do well the parent club take them back.

If you’ are a big club and must do it a guaranteed option to buy is a must at the end of the loan. The only other use for big clubs is a short term stop gap during an injury crisis.

I really don’t know what we’re doing always loaning players out to be honest, it’s the club being cheap IMO.

There’s a certain irony when we don’t seem to be able to loan out any of our fringe players we don’t want (and can’t sell them either).

A midfield without a single legit midfielder? Sounds legit.

Madrid trying to drive up the price - but we don;t have the money, so it seems like goodbye Dani... which means ... Dani Who?
Lets move on - we can do better, despite Ceballos having a good last few games.
Another reason why loan deals suck - we paid for Real's development.

This is why loaning instead of buying sucks we’ve converted Ceballos into a better player only to have Madrid double the price and take him back ffs

It is also looking increasingly likely that Torreira and Guendouzi are leaving too, we will need a whole new midfield. Crazy days ahead.

Any loan should really come with a clause where we buy for an agreed price if things work out - this is just another example of our negotiators being played again.

We've only helped him become a better player for the type of ramshackle 3-4-3 Arsenal play.

He isn't going to seriously compete for a place in Real's midfield because he doesn't offer what Modric, Kroos, Casemiro or Isco do.

Look I am not against getting rid of the entire middle section and starting again. Sell players to buy players we need. Lets just get our work done early so those players can get a pre-season and familiarity with their new teammates. We won't miss any of the midfielders we currently have, none of them have given us performances over a decent period to say "yeah, keep him".

We better move quick - we're 9 days away from the Community Shield. The number of times we've started a season with players not back yet or not ready has been a constant frustration.

Accto Charles Watts, Ceballos is likely to stay at Real, or be sold to a Spanish side.

Can't say I am over disappointed if true. He ended the season with a few good games, but he's not the level we need IMO.

Unless we get Aouar and Partey, we'd be left with Xhaka, Willock, and Torreira. Ozil perhaps, but it's wait and watch with him.

We really need to a sign a CM and a DM at the very least.

He wasn't ours anyway, we didn't negotiate an option to buy and now Real have decided we're not an option. Basically we paid for him to be injured and to train him up, in other words we're like Reals feeder club.

Should have negotiated an option to buy or gone for someone else.
