what a signing, exactly what we need in midfield

stats when he was at real betis in 16/17 (when he was 19/20)

24 starts
2.7 dribbles p/g
fould 3.9 times p/g (defenders no choice but to bring him down)
1.3 key passes
5 tackles and interceptions p/g

quality acquisition for the season and fills a huge ramsey shaped gap whilst he hopefully brings us CL football in order to pay up for a permanent replacement

Absolutely quality signing regardless of the fact its a loan. Extremely happy with this one

Get in!

Hope Real midfielders have world class seasons and he's deemed surplus to requirements so we can get a permanent deal.

He wants to break through at Madrid but apparently Zizou isn’t a fan

Could happen if things don’t change and he likes it here

I love this deal. We can't afford to go and spend big money on a replacement for Ramsey, so am glad to see we're being proactive in signing a quality player on loan instead. Hopefully if he has a great season and we qualify for the CL we might be able to make it permanent, although that seems unlikely.

Still, it seems like a superb piece of business.

I doubt Real Madrid would have consented to a deal that included one and we're in no position to negotiate, really.

He kills it for us this season then gets his chance at Real or another club with actual money.

He does well, weve got no chance but benefit from his ability.

He does so so and at least we arent committed to buying.

Not the worst deal tbf but itll be a shame to watch him walk out if he smashes it.

It'll be interesting if Madrid go in for Pogba next summer. It doesn't look like they'll get him this year so 40-50m from us for Ceballos in a year's time would free up funds for them going big for Pogba.

Perhaps, but how often do deals of that size include player exchanges? Almost never. The last one I can think of was the Ibrahimovic-Eto'o swap which was what, a decade ago?

If he's played well, settled in London and we've qualified for the Champions League - which we'll have to do if we want to pay for him - then we'll be in a pole position to sign him permanently.

Whilst we have gained another player, albeit one not considered good enough for a top tier side, these are the actions of a small club. Spurs walked away as soon as no option to buy was offered, unless we've managed to secure one all we are doing is developing a RM player at our cost ... the Spanish press are calling it a "Gap Year" praising Zidane for his smart thinking ...

Players take a while to settle into the EPL at 22 Ceballos has very little experience (just 1800 minutes in two years at RM) to expect him to play a full EPL season is unrealistic, he's a squad player at best. Very worried he's a Suarez mark II

Best we can hope for is that he has a great season and we spend 100m replacing him (with him) next summer ... still in my mind this is small club thinking, keeping us top six at minimum cost ....

True and it's not like hes short of Spanish speakers with us anyway, hopefully he has a blast with us and he goes for it.

I just cant see him not killing it and real passing up on him. Hopefully it goes our way but then that's another hefty chunk out of our budget for next year already.

Looks like a good addition from the videos I've watched. Shame it's only a loan though.
