It wont be easy. They won in Lyon in Europa and in Basel and Benfica in the CL this season.

We are at that level.

Also we have never won in Moscow against any of their sides. Spartak, Lokomotiv and CSKA.

We will concede goals but will win, I do not think you can take any team for granted at this stage of the comp. Also teams raise their game on euro nights

Depends on what type of team they are tbh, if they give us time and space we will do damage, if they got the physicality to get in our faces and some pace and movement we could easily be in trouble

The atmosphere in the away leg will be absolutely poisonous, we will be in Putin-loving territory. Away fans may need to take extra caution.

Wouldn't be surprised if Welbeck, Laca and others have to put up with racist chants or worse.

What a shambles.

Funny
I looked on soccerbase and I counted 129 Clean sheets and only the last 3 seasons have Russian league games
Prior to that it only includes European games or internationals
Seems the chap on Twitter was more interested in making a funny than supporting the arsenal

Yeah basically, if Wenger is serious about winning this then Cech and Elneny need to play for the rest of the completion.

Dunno why people refuse to take these teams seriously, they beat Lyon who were one of the favourites and wanted a home final. CSKA are no mugs, they have plenty of European experience and could easily cause our erratic team problems.

Need to bury them in the first leg at home because there's no telling what the away leg will bring and I don't fancy us going to Moscow even needing to score.

Agreed some of these teams even though not big names are top of their leagues especially in this stage of the comp and are used to winning and bossing teams, they will not roll over.

If we hadn't had a late resurgence recently I'd be very concerned.

Hopefully Lacazette can get up and running quickly and I'm glad Welbeck has bagged a few goals for his confidence because we're gonna need these guys to come through for us.

We done Millan over expertly, lets hope we keep that up.

Athletico vs Arsenal final would be banging occasion for the fans!

Lacazette will probably be back for this by the looks of things.

He's back .............

Be interesting for game one to see who Wenger goes with, the inform Welbeck or the better technical striker in Lacazette?

Usually in these sorts of games you'd just put Welbeck out wide but with Wenger playing our 1st team in the Europa now .................

Honestly I don't think he'll start Lacazette but give him a 15min cameo then maybe start him 2nd game if he looks sharp, I don't see him dropping Welbeck when he's coming off a two goal performance.
