Should we start planning for next season now

Postby gooney » Tue Jan 30, 2018 10:15 pm

By giving some youngsters a chance? I mean players like xhaka and mustafi has no future here whatsoever. But it feels while the season is getting away.....the senior players are safe and the youngsters are there just to fill up the numbers. Anyone who has seen Nketiahs numbers last 12 months will tell you they are spectacular. Last few games he is on the bench just to make the numbers up. I mean today would be the perfect game to take a risk on a kid. The attack was going nowhere. Instead we bring in a guy who is heading to chelsea first thing in the morning and has been talking to chelsea all day.

Da Silva has looked great in midfield for the U23. How many bad performance does xhaka get away with it before we try something new? I am not saying the youngsters are better. But lets be honest....we are playing for nothing in the league. we are not finishing ahead of 2 of chelsea, liverpool and tottenham. But by giving some kids a chance, you create competition. the senior players wont feel they are untouchable and the kids will feel they have real shot. I honestly think bit of new blood will lift everyone at the club. I know from business point of view it could be catastrophic if da silva and nketiah have an impact and put pressure on 90 million players xhaka/lacazette

This is exactly how I would set up bar AMN, is he ready to deputise the holding line?

I think we should buy a CDM personally.

Lacazette can do the Sanchez role, Wing Forward when all are fit and cover up front in games when PEA rests.

There is a good chance Nelson won’t be here next season. Frustrated. Similar situation to McGuane. Both ready to sign on in the summer but changes to back room staff meant discussions were put on hold. One has left. Good chance Reiss will follow.

The plans can start as long as Wenger is not involved. If its involving Wenger then its already a waste of time.

I came across diaby video....I know injuries ruined him. But compare this video of diaby to xhaka and its so sad how limited our midfielders have become. We were never a proper coached team. But we had some seriously talented players in the likes of diaby, hleb, rvp and nasri. Just super technicians

This.

Strongest 11

Cech
Kolis OOP / Kosc / Mustafi / Nacho
Elneny / Wilshere
Mkhi / Ozil / Laca
Auba

Subs: Ospina / Bellerin / Ramsey / AMN / Welbeck

Bye bye Iwobi and Xhaka, Welbeck only stays because we needed to lose Giroud to get Auba.

How Iwobi is a forward, he shoots like a pussy or Xhaka is even a footballer is beyond me.

It's not Elneny can't do a job, it's just we can do so much better.

Next season, we need a GK, CB (possibly two), CDM and forward to replace Welbeck. Praying for Santi but that's a long shot.

Its already started.

Wenger knows we cant be in Top 4 now.

Backroom overhaul plus all dead wood being sold.

Indication is clear.

Could be an unpopular opinion but why not try and blood Kolasinac into a holding mid? We seem to be reverting to a solid back four and Nacho has proved to be reliable. Possible lineup until end of season;

Cech
Bellerin Koscielny Mustafi Monreal

Kolasinac
Wilshere Mkhitaryan

Ozil
Aubameyang Lacazette

Full backs providing width with Kola holding, Jack and Mkhi given freedom to roam and interchange pinging the ball between themselves and Mesut who should be the creator in the final third, with two up top making runs in behind.
