Then Bayern buy him for 10M from stuttgart the season after, becomes one of the best centre backs in the world, Ben White flops here and we look like idiots in the footballing world.

That’s usually how things go here it’s the whole Gnabry/Pepe thing again.

What a terrible deal, is that really the best we could do?

Pathetic, this club is a joke, this would have been a good deal back in the 90s,

Meanwhile we want to pay 50 million for White :rofll:

Once the Xhaka deal is also completed, Arteta boosters will start pointing to net spend to justify buying Ben White for £50m.

Probably right, in my eyes there no justification for buying White, as for selling Mavropanos for basically a loan fee (500k) and 3 million and then 1.5 million in bonuses if they ever happen, it’s laughable, any other big club would be getting 3 or 4 times that for a kid who’s never played at the top level!

It’s going to be funny when Bayern buy Mavropanos in a year or so, leaving Arsenal looking stupid as usual

Yeah. Just like Emi Martinez, I’m afraid we could be losing a potentially good player for next to nothing. Don’t understand why it’s hard for us to ask for more money for our players.

if no one can meet the valuation then just keep loaning the player out until the player is ready to start for us

Well, that's the case since we don't actually want him here. Once it's in the agents' ears that we don't want to retain certain players, their value plummets.

The situation would be different if clubs approached Saka or ESR. We won't get top money for them, but we won't behave like pushovers either.

And who’s telling his agent that he’s not wanted here because that person needs to be fired

Signed for less than 2m, sold for 5m plus last seasons loan fee. Not bad business for a guy who played less than 10 games for us and got himself sent off.

If he turns out any good then the sell on clause will bring us a few more ££, Stuttgart can't afford anymore at the moment anyway.

Are you kidding?

We bought him as a kid, he’s been playing regularly and performing very well in Germany for a couple seasons and we actually sold him for 3.5 million including the loan fee, the bonuses might not even happen, if you think that 5 million is a good deal when Liverpool sold Brewster who hadn’t even played top level football for 24 million you need to adjust your expectations. With his wages we’ve had to pay since the time we signed him we’re probably not far off breaking even.

It’s an awful deal for a player worth 3-4 times that and I can’t believe anyone would think it was a good deal, as I said before it would have been a good deal back in the 90s, but definitely not now.

If you want to see another awful deal, 50 million for White with only one season at the top level would be one, it’s actually laughable if we pay anywhere near that, he could turn out to be absolute rubbish.

Yeah, it's not a good deal at all. We could probably raise his valuation to at least £10m -£15m at least with a quick Premier Leagie run out. He's good in the air, a right sided CB and quite quick. Doesn't make sense to sell and especially if Santi believe we need a CB because we're short on numbers.

No money in Bundesliga, other than BM. Hence they can't buy at high prices. Mavropanos would have returned if we asked for 20-30 mil.
Any player in PL goes for at least 40 mil nowadays especially young English players. So I'm not surprised that BHA are holding on for 50mil for Ben. They know Arsenal has money so they can milk us for a decent sum.
That's why Wenger rarely went for buys from PL.

Mate you must spend half your wages on kleenex between wanking and crying all the time, calm down.

Did you watch a single bundesliga game or are you just basing his quality off media reports? Where do you expect a valuation of 20m to come from when his market value on transfermarkt (not gospel but they do it across all players) is 5.4m? Where do you expect Stuttgart to magic up 20m from when they don't have it?

Get a grip and come back to reality, comparing him to a HG kid with English tax...what's the point? 5m + the sell on is fine for guy who has offered us nothing.
